Vehicle Detail

The great things about this car:It starts and runs consistently and reliably all year round. The engine and transmission are strong and solid. I keep it outside, and drove it daily with no problem throughout this very cold winter. On the coldest days (below 0) the electric sump heater plugged in the night before gave instant starts no matter what the temperature. The car has both snow tires and regular tires, all in good condition. I just replaced the radiator with a new one. You can see the new radiator in the image of the engine compartment. The car has been converted it to run on WVO (Waste Vegetable Oil), which I get from a couple of local restaurants. It has an 18 gallon heated veg oil tank (arctic fox coolant heater), heated Vormax fuel filter, hose in hose fuel line, two inline electric fuel heaters, FPHE, and all the valves , gauges, and switches needed for operation. Also included are two 50 gallon tanks with electric fuel pumps and nozzles for filtering and pumping the WVO, and numerous spare parts and filters for the car. Images are attached. The not so great things about this car:There are some areas of rust in the body, some severe, typical of MB of this era. Attached are photos of the worst: the passenger side rocker panel, driver door, and passenger front fender. This is NOT a pristine beautiful car. Attached are images of the worst rust areas. There are plenty of scratches, dings, and the rear driver door needs adjustment for smooth opening and closing. The AC does not work. The car is due for alignment and brake pad replacement. The mileage is approximate - although it reads 198,000 on the odometer, a history check shows an anomaly which means that the actual mileage is probably higher. All in all, a solid functional car that operates on free fuel. The veg oil conversion components alone are worth the price I am asking. I am hoping someone will see in the car what I have come to cherish: a reliable ride that can run on recycled fuel that can be left anywhere without worrying about theft or damage (not many would want it, and it has plenty of scratches, dings, and rust already). As I stated above, it is not a pretty car, but before I break it down into parts, I am hoping someone could use just such a vehicle. I give NO warranty on this car, neither for mechanical nor body components, so if you are interested please make sure you know exactly what you are interested in. I also reserve the right to cancel the auction because I have the car listed in other venues and I will sell the car to the first confirmed buyer.
