Looking for the Holy Grail or a needle in a haystack? Here it is! It’s one of not many left 01 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins Diesel 4x4’s with an extended cab and a short bed. It’s about the rarest of them, and best of all it’s got 87k original miles on it and its BLACK! The truck is as clean as you’ll ever find for a 2001 and it looks, runs, drives, and acts like an 80k mile truck should. The body is straight, not rusty at all, looks great, and barely has a ding in it. It’s got a few small scratches, but nothing noticeable or that takes away from the truck. Everything seems to be solid on the truck, even the underneath is clean for an 01! Nothing really to pick at on it. Cab corners are solid, wheel arches are good, doors are dry…it’s all there. All of the doors open and shut easily, and there’s no paint peeling anywhere. It gets compliments everywhere it goes. The interior is about SPOTLESS. The carpet looks great, doesn’t stink, and isn’t stained at all. It could pass for new. The rest of the interior is in great shape as well. The seat isn't torn, the headliner is clean, it doesn’t stink inside, and the dash is in good shape for an 01. It does have a couple of hairline cracks (see pics) but nothing huge. The worst part is the gauge surround that is cracked at the top, that you can see in the pics as well. The steering wheel isn’t even torn up like most of them! The mechanics of this truck really shine! It has the legendary 5.9 Cummins turbo diesel with an automatic transmission. It fires right up, doesn’t smoke, and is ALL STOCK. It’s never had a chip or programmer on it that I know of. I have all of the paperwork from having a brand new VP44 Injection pump in it with a new lift pump. It starts easily cold, hot, and any time you turn the key over. The motor doesn’t have any blow by, doesn’t miss, doesn’t shake, or do anything stupid at all. I’ve had it parked in the same spot for a week with no drips anywhere. The transmission has had to be rebuilt, but I don’t have any way to prove it. It shift firm but doesn’t chip your teeth, doesn't slip, and holds gears very well. The torque converter locks up with no chatter or noise as well. The tires have plenty of tread on them, brakes stop straight, steering is tight, AC is cold, heat is hot…you get the idea, it’s an 87k mile truck. :) If you’re looking for one of these, you know how hard they are to find. Don’t miss this one, it will not last. You’d be hard pressed to find another 01 like this anywhere. It shows well, it runs well, and it works well. I wouldn’t be afraid to jump in it and drive to California tomorrow. Please keep in mind that I try to describe my vehicles to the full extent of my knowledge.
