I purchaced this car a few years ago with plans on restoring it. There are no major issues with the car but just the little cosmetic things that you would see on a car of this type that is almost 30 years old. Mechanically, the car runs great. The timing and balance shaft belts were replace a year and a half ago ( approximately 1000 miles). The interior is good. The drivers seat has wear and the bolster seam has a small split. The dashboard has cracking typical to the 944. A newer radio with CD player and a jack for a iPod has been installed. The body has a few small dent and the paint could use a re-spaying, however, when waxed nicely it looks sharp. This is my third Porshe, but first 944. I truly love the feel of the way this car handles. The shift is crisp and the power from the 2.5 4 cylinder is more than I expected. The tire tread is good but they are a few years old. I haven't seen any sidewall cracking. As I mentioned, I purchaced this car with hopes to spend the time restoring it to better than new. I looked at many candidates, and found this to be mechanically the best one on the market at the time. I still love driving it! Unfortunately plans have change and I no longer have the time or garage space to complete this project.
