Vehicle Detail

This is a restoration of 1968 Volkswagen, Karmann Ghia. The bodywork and paint job are extensive and flawless. There is no rust on this car anywhere including the undercarriage. The floor pan is original and rock solid. Always kept in a heated garage. A new 1776 cc custom engine built by Mofoco, a Volkswagen specialty shop in Milwaukee, was installed in 2012 along with a rebuilt transmission. 1200 new miles on it since the restoration. There is a new gas tank and lines, rebuilt brakes, and a new battery. A new performance dual exhaust was added. The fenders are original, recently rechromed. Custom full interior work done. New headliner reupholstered front bucket seats and rear seats, new/clean interior and carpet through out. The seatbelts are custom shoulder belts as opposed to the original lap belts. Original gauges, clean wood dash, custom wood steering wheel, Bluetooth audio connectivity to a new four speaker +sub woofer sound system, remote start, an alarm system with GPS location tracking from an application on your phone (which also can run the remote starter) (The original radio is still on the dash but does not work. The modern sound system is hidden in the glove compartment to retain its original look. A lot of love and attention has gone into this restoration and there is paperwork available for all major work. The paint job itself cost 7500. It has an amazing color that has different feels with different light. In the evening it’s a cool sharkskin gunmetal and during the day it has a blue tint. I would say this restoration is at 90% The suspension works well as is but could use some work in the future. The car has its original wiring harness. It works fine but was on my final list to get this car to mint. The release wire for the engine compartment is gone. Never used it never needed it. The trunk never opens unless you pull it open. The car is ready for some new tires as well. I have two sets of hubcaps, the original ones in pretty good shape, (7/10) with the VW logo on them, and the ones in the pictures that are new with no logo. I have moved on to other projects and am looking to find a good home for this great classic car.
