Vehicle Detail
1972 Pontiac Grand Prix for sale VIN 2K57T2A103891 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix with wild psychedelic interior and color scheme, Sunburst Orange exterior with Dark Green interior with a southwestern patterned fabric that looks factory but I cannot get anyone anywhere to verify if it is or not. If not, it was installed when the car was new and done correctly as far as the sew pattern and all is concerned. The colors (orange and green) are original, the PHS history report says that, I just cannot verify the interior fabric pattern. The car is in very good condition, runs well, and everything works. The odometer reads 23,900 miles on it, which I believe to be 123,900 based on the condition of the car, a well running survivor. I have driven it 125+ miles in the last two weeks to make sure it is still working correctly after winter storage. It was been repainted once before I bought it, everything else appears to be original. The vinyl roof has shrunk and there are some scratches, so it will need to be replaced. The paint is good, just some small chips and such. The body and chassis are solid and rust free. The car was originally sold in Missouri, I do not have any other location history on the car before my purchase. The interior is in excellent condition except a couple of splits on the left edge of the driver’s seat and the crack on the driver’s door armrest. I added a Kenwood modern hidden stereo system that sits under the passenger seat and you can use the remote control to adjust it, it has an ipod hookup, the wire comes up out of the console so you can hide it in there when not in use. The stock in dash AM radio is in place but was disconnected for the new sound system. I added some side panels at the front of the console to hold additional speakers on top of the new 6x9 speakers on the back package shelf. It sounds very good. I also added 1973-77 style sport mirrors painted to match the body, it is funny that no one, even at POCI car shows, has noticed that the mirrors are one year too new for the car. Both side mirrors are manually adjustable, my mechanic was not able to get the interior adjusting lever to go through the door panel for the driver’s door mirror. Options include tilt wheel, cruise control, power seat and power door locks. I purchased this car in April of 2007, and have driven it about 4,000 miles over that time, so about 500 miles a year. I bought the tires new soon after I bought the car, so the age and mileage are the same as for my ownership. The 400 engine runs great, transmission shifts well, power steering and brakes work well. The car rides beautifully down the street or highway. All accessories work, including the air conditioning, which has been converted to 134A. You are welcome to inspect this car or have a representative do so, let me know if you would like any specific photos, thanks for looking.
