Vehicle Detail
Hello Folks! Pains me to have to do this because I really love this car, but I just don't have the time or mechanical expertise to get this baby back up and running. Maybe you do? I mean if you are checking out this listing you've probably owned one of these cars at some point, or always wanted one. I know I did. The 94 Probe GT to me is an awesome car. A unique style and everything you could want in a sports car. Personally this is the "crown jewel" of the Probe line-up. Just look at those stock rims! Those in itself give the Probe its best look. I spotted her December 1st 2003, 2 days later I bought it. At the time it had 86,082 miles on it and ran great. It still ran great up to about 4 months ago when I noticed antifreeze leaking from the engine, and it began overheating. I took it to my mechanic thinking it needed a few hoses, and maybe a new radiator. Sure the car at times ran a little rough but it was over 20 years old, and had logged a lot of miles. He said unfortunately the engine was shot, he wasn't surprised because the car had just shy of 180,000 mile on it. However I was shocked, I thought I would have this car forever. This literally came out of the blue. Took it to a few more people for estimates. (Had to tow it to a few different shops, as the brake lines gave out as the backed it out of the first shop..Literally blew right there.. Unbelievable.. To see if it could in any way be saved, short of a rebuilt engine, but they all came to the same conclusion. The car as long as I've owned it has never had an accident with another vehicle. I clipped a deer in 2010 on the front left drivers side, which required attention to the headlight mechanism. Well that brings me to the present day, can't stand the thought of the car going into some Junkyard to rust as pieces are plucked from it like chicken feathers. This Probe is like an old friend. Regardless of what the mechanics have told me, I believe there is a lot of life left in this car. This car, again, does not run and therefore cannot be driven, so as the buyer, it'll be up to you to handle the removal. I'm hoping to sell this car regionally, someone within a sensible distance to make this transaction as smooth as possible. I don't have any room to have this stored at my apartment complex, and my folks have let me keep it at there place in their drive way. There cool with me keeping it there until I sell it, but I gotta have a reasonable time-table for you to come pick up the car if you have the winning bid. Although not mechanically inclined, oil and filter changes were done religiously every 3,000 miles using "Castrol High Mileage" engine oil, Outside of that I made sure anything the car needed, it got. I have every single work order for all repairs done to the car and will definitely give you a full picture of everything that was replaced or not over the past 11 years. Checked the head light mechanism so the battery still has juice, and was just replaced less than 2 years ago. Tires were replaced in 2006 (x4) 2011(front 2), and 2012(back2), after purchasing a new Jeep Wrangler in 2011, I kept the probe as a market car, so these tires are still in good shape. Paint Job from 2008, is beginning to fade, on the hood, roof and hatch. AC Blows warm. Head lights still work, however after the collision with the deer in 2010, the left headlight raising mechanism had to be replaced, and because of the slight body damage to the drivers side front end the headlight beam itself is off (I mean it works, its just off center), but I've been told some bodywork can repair that. If you've owned a probe you'll know what a pain aiming those headlights are. The headlights them selves again both work, and have been replaced at least once each. Tail lights have been an issue with this car as well. I must have had as many blown bulbs as oil changes in this car. For some reason, the drivers side brake light bulb was always needing to be replaced, but its red and its a Ford so I just chalked it up to that. Look lets be real here..Look at the starting bid, this car means a lot to me and I am not trying to make anything on this deal, I want only for it to go to a good home. Some one who will care for the car as I have. The low staring price is meant as a way to supplement the cost of the immediate repairs the car needs. Do I even have to say this? OK here goes.. Serious Bidders Only! I can't be playing games here, I need to get this car of my parents property, so again if you want this car, great! Nevertheless..Ask yourself 2 questions before you place a bid. Do you have the funds to complete the transaction, and perhaps most important, do you have the time/the capability to have the car removed. Once again this car cannot be driven off the premises. It must be removed by other means. Hopefully you've seen this listing and decided that this car is a project you'd like to take on. If I can help in anyway by answering questions regarding the repairs to the car or its general history please do not hesitate to contact me. There is just too much to list regarding repairs, I'd be here all day. Once the auction is complete make the above stated deposit, and then we'll finalize the deal in person when you come to get it. (again see above for terms of final payment). Good luck and happy bidding! US Bidders Only! Must have a PayPal account!
