Selling my 1960 VW Bug to raise some funds for my 21 Window bus build. I'm sure this bug will make a new family very happy just driving it or you could even take it to shows. This beetle underwent a body on restoration in 2009 including new motor, brakes, paint and interior. The car was driven for approximately 1000 miles over the next couple years and then parked in dry storage. Last summer we took the car out of storage and went back through the maintenance and mechanical to be ready for a new home. There is no signs of rust on any part of the car and it was always kept garaged. Below are some details of the car broken out by category. I've very picky and will try and describe the car the best I can. Also I've got a link to a bunch of photos and can take additional photos if desired and answer questions if you have them. Bid with confidence Pan / Body / Title VIN #'s all Match. Washington State Title in hand. Happy Bidding! Exterior I believe Sea Blue in color Bodywork is straight shiny. NO Dings, Scratches or Rock Chips... Super Clean Rubbers are pliable and nice The door aluminum window trim is nice but there are a couple of small dings noted Trim / Running boards are nice Door handles are beginning to pit and could use replacement if you want to take it to shows Front bumper is decent, Rear is questionable compared to overall condition of car. Rims are painted body color and white, Extra aerosol cans of both colors come with car in case you need to touch up the rims some day Pair of front tires are in good shape, the rear pair is showing some weather checking but still usable with good tread hubcaps are brand new Wheel Wells and aprons are nice and show no signs of rust or repair Interior Seat covers, carpets, door panels and headliner all replaced new in 2009 Interior does show wear but still shows nice. No Rips or tears in any of the interior Some of the piping around carpet edges is discoloring Steering wheel is original and shows wear from normal age Door Jams have some chipping in the paint. Doors close nice and seals are tight Front Seats have lap belts.. no rear belts are installed. Electrical Still Factory 6V with Brand New Optima Red Top Battery All the lighting and switches work as should Horn on wheel not hooked up.. button on underside of dash activates horn Vintage radio is in the dash but I have not tested it All exterior lighting works.. Headlight, Taillight, License, Turns and brakes. New Ignition to Starter wire was run recently so no more hard 6V starts. Engine / Trans Chassis JCS rebuilt 1200cc 40 horse purchased new 7/2009 Still have warranty paperwork All the correct cooling tin is mounted Just did a Tune up including, Valve Adjust to .006, Timing, Point Gap, Oil Change inluding Lucus Zink Additive Replaced Clutch and Disk 2010 Stock Swing Transmission just drained and gear oil replaced Brakes were new in 2009 but since the car had sat for a couple years I just went completely back through them including Replacing one of the wheel cylinders, Flushed out all the old fluid and replaced with new, Sprayed Brake clean and inspect / adjusted shoes. Brakes are 100% ready to go Front Beam and King / Links were just greased Passenger rear bearing seal just replaced KYB Gas shocks on all 4 corners installed in 2009 Pan underside is dirty but solid I've got 100+ Photos I can send you a link to. Buyer is responsible for setting up and the cost of shipping. Car is only for sale to USA Buyers.. No international bids will be accepted. Buyer to pay Non Refundable deposit of $500 within 48 hours of auction end. Remaining balance and pickup must be completed 30 days from auction end. If buyer fails to complete payment the deposit will be lost. If buyer is paid in full but car is not picked up before 30 days then a $10 a day storage fee will be added and must be paid prior to the car being released.
