Vehicle Detail
We’re selling my daughter’s car (formerly my wife’s car) to the first person who pays us $1,200 cash. We bought this car in 2010; we're the second owners. Please feel free to use the ‘Ask a question’ link at the bottom of the listing if you have any questions! The good: - Starts right up and runs great- Clear title- Passed smog in December; registration good until January 2016- Low mileage for year (less than 10,000 miles a year, under 156,000 miles now)- New back brake pads & rotors turned; fronts good- All four tires nearly new and in great condition with very little mileage on them- Regular oil changes- All new front suspension bushings a few years ago- A/C completely gone through in 2011 and works great- Timing belt & major service done 4 years ago at 120,000 miles- Original radio with 6 CD changer - Did I mention only $1,200? The bad (or, why only $1,200, if you prefer): - Paint job has issues; lots of nicks and some dings / small dents on body- Cruise control doesn’t work (dealer replaced control stalk, didn’t fix problem)- Front passenger door won’t open from inside car- Burns some oil (as pretty-much most of the older turbo Audis do)- Anti-lock brake idiot lights came on last year; one flashes annoyingly -- Our mechanic looked at it; replaced back pads and turned rotors in December, doesn’t see any computer trouble codes, but light won’t go away. Quite possibly a sensor, but could be something else and cost more to make the light go away (or you could just drive it and ignore the light like my daughter did) - Sunroof doesn’t work- Wheels have some curb rash, scratches & gouges- Interior has lots of issues- Headliner droopy behind back seat- Holes in upholstery- Stains on carpet- Center console armrest lid has a broken hinge- Lots of issues with plastic trim pieces inside and outside of car—Audi plastic doesn’t age gracefully- Someone stole the front fog lights while my daughter had the car (there is a new replacement set on eBay for $71 including shipping) Please look at the photos below, and please feel free to ask me if you have any questions at all. Please understand this is a used car that's 17 years old and it has a good number of issues. I've tried to identify the issues I'm aware of, but this vehicle doesn't come with any warranty. I honestly believe it can be reliable transportation (as it was for my wife and daughter) but I have no idea if there's anything on the horizon that could affect that. Please don't send me messages asking me if I'll accept a lower price. I believe I've priced this car fairly for a decent car that runs and has passed smog. Thanks for your interest!
