Vehicle Detail
1986 Buick Grand National3.8 Liter Turbo ChargedFast and Fun!! This auction is for a very nice 1986 Buick Grand National. This is a two registered owner car. The gentleman that purchased this car new had it and loved it until 96K miles and then sold it to the second. I took the car as a partial trade for something I was selling. If I had the room I would keep the car for myself. Unfortunately I have more stuff than I do room. This car is a blast to drive and you wont believe the amount of attention you get going down the road in it. Folks are waving and giving you the thumbs up and don't even get me started about when you stop to put gas in it. It is a real attention grabbing head turner. These cars have quite the cult following. That stuff is cool but what is really cool about this car is just how fast it is. These cars run amazing. They make crazy power with the turbo charged motor and this one is no exception. If you have not driven or ridden shotgun in one of these cars you are in for quite a treat. Ok; lets get down to the nuts and bolts of this great car. I would rate this car as a nice driver. It is not a show car. It does have a couple little trim issues that can be easily addressed by the next owner. Here they are, it needs one center cap $35 on Ebay it needs the trim identifying the engine on one side of the hood, it needs a piece of trim on left front of bumper under drivers headlight and a piece of bumper trim on left rear down at the bottom. These are all very minor easily addressed issues. It has $600 worth of brand new stainless steel exhaust, new battery, new alternato and a new headliner. Mechanically this car is very sound. The motor runs strong and quiet and the transmission shifts as it should. Early in its life it had some damage to the drivers door and the the information as it was relayed to me was that the original drivers door was painted. If you have been following these cars at the big auctions "Mecum, Barrett Jackson" etc you know they can command big$$. Here is your chance to own one of these cars at a very reasonable price. No one has a crystal ball but I do not think the value is going to do anything but go up on these cars. This car is clean and ready to enjoy. If you want a lot of horsepower bang for your buck it does not get much better than one of these Grand Nationals. Thanks for taking the time to read my listing and good luck at the auction. An immediate $500 deposit is required at the end of auction and the balance is expected in cash or certified funds within one week of auctions end. This is not my first auction so please, scammers do not waste either of our time. The car is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. I have set what I feel is a reasonable reserve on the car and I do expect the car to sell. I received this car in a trade situation and I am not totally against trading it for something IE Race Car stuff, Diesel Truck etc but no Junk please. Below is some info on the 1986 Grand National. If I can answer any question or you would just like to discuss the car my name is Willy and I can be reached via email or on my cell at (301) 399-0807. 1986 - THIS was the magical year for the GN. THIS was the year that many people, including the general public and the automotive press all gave a collective "WTF?" when this car was tested at 0-60 in under 5 seconds and the 1/4 in mid-13s - fast enough to clean a Corvette's clock and many other foreign exotics. The Turbo gained an intercooler this year and Buick rated this car at "only" 235 hp, but as many found out was vastly underrated (the actual hp amount still remains a mystery, but it was supposedly well over 300 hp). Sales jumped to around 5500 this year, finally surpassing the T-Type.
