1996 Mercedes Benz S600 V-12 with ONLY 88,617 miles This car is the flagship of Mercedes-Benz for the years 1992-1999. It is the desirable & rare S600, with the highly acclaimed V-12 engine. If you do not know the history of the W-140, please go to wikipedia. They have a good briefing on the top of the line Mercedes S class series or the W-140's. Its worth the read. This car is very special indeed! First off this car has spent its entire life on the west coast, which means zero rust. The car was originally purchased in California where it spent most of its life, before moving the washington state for a few years. It also only has 88,617 miles!! I bought this car from an elderly gentleman who said he used it for long trips along the west coast. He was very adamant that this car is truly enjoyable at high speed on the highway and not to be contained to stop and go traffic in the city. He definitely took care of the car and it shows in the condition of the exterior and the quality of the ride. The car has no warning lights on the dash (see picture) and everything works as it should. The soft close doors and trunk, power door locks and ALL equipment function as they should. No stories or excuses. It is a true low mileage car and functions as such. The car is an absolute joy to get out on a straight away and get on the gas pedal. The acceleration is outstanding. The suspension is in excellent shape with ZERO rattles or knocking. You are not buying an expensive repair project car. I have learned over the years that there are NO cheap Mercedes. If you buy a Mercedes cheap because of condition and/or required repairs, you WILL pay thousands for the repairs. Nothing on Mercedes is cheap. That is why when you buy one, get it in excellent condition. It is really important. This car is just that. The transmission shifts right and tight, the engine purrs like a kitten, and everything functions as it should. The interior is in excellent condition. The leather seats and headliner (yes the headliner is leather suede) are in great shape. The dash wood work is uncracked and in excellent condition. All the climate control buttons work flawlessly. I would rate the interior a 9.9 out of 10. The seats are a two tone black/dark grey or off black color. While I wanted a all black interior, I actually like this set up better than all my other mercedes with all black interior. It just looks and feels better, more supple than the trip black Mercedes. The windows are tastefully tinted and they are the double pane windows. Yes the windows are doubled up for noise reduction. That has lead to the mistaken belief in the ghetto that these cars are bullet proof, but in reality Mercedes wanted an absolute quiet cabin, free of the road and exterior noise. It is a really cool feature of the car. The shifter has an unblemished cool V-12 logo on the top, that alerts the buyer (driver) he is in for a real treat! The exterior is in great condition. There are a couple small scuff on bumper corners and a ding or two, but you really have to look close to find them. The car exterior is a 9 out of 10. I did upgrade the rear tail light package to the LED lenses to modernize the look. The original set come with the car. Now the center section lens that came with the kit is a POS, so I would replace that with a factory piece which is available on ebay for $119.00. I also did notice the passenger headlight wiper is in the up position and I never notice d that before. I just wanted to disclose everything. I have no doubt who ever buys this car is getting an excellent low mileage Mercedes. If you are a mercedes lover, please note that it is getting really REALLY hard to find S600 V-12's with low miles anymore. So get it while you have the opprotunity.
