Vehicle Detail
GOOD STUFF: (1) Runs and looks great.(2) This is a well maintained car, and had it not been for an impulse purchase of a neighbor's 2007 hardtop Miata (and a wife not willing to let me keep both), it would not be for sale. I was planning to keep it until it becomes an official classic, but my wife liked the roll bars, hard top, and extra air bags on the newer model. Actually, I think the 1999 is a bit more fun and handles better, as it's a little lower to the ground. (3) The interior is in very good condition. There are no dents or scratches of real significance, though like any 15 year old car, you can find minor defects if you look hard enough, but they are not the kind that stand out (see below). (4) I drive this car gently in first and second, but it likes to be driven hard too. (5) The top is 2 years old, but dirty in the photos. It should clean up fine. BAD STUFF: (1) The center console 'glove' compartment has a broken hinge which could easily be repaired, but I never thought anything of it. (2) The radio/speakers work fine, but my recollection is that the CD player had some problem and never investigated it. (3) The top of the trunk got hit with some falling acorns two months ago one afternoon and left several minor dings to the metal, not the paint, but you have to look to find them. There is also another very small indentation to the trunk lid, also hard to find. (4) There's a tiny bit of white paint on the driver's seat bottom (I never tried to clean it), and the left side driver's seat is showing some wear and cracking (see photo). (5) The passenger's door is supposed to lock automatically when you lock the driver's door, but it doesn't always work.(6) The plastic headlight covers are a bit foggy, and the dealer told me they'd cost about $150 to buff out. I think the same is true of the fog lights. (7) The engine check light was on last time listed (didn't sell as 'buy it now'). Cleaned fuel system and filled with 92 octane and ran 100 miles hard for more than a week and light has remained off. I expect it will stay off.ESSENTIAL STUFF: Car is being sold 'as is/where is.' $500 in expenses (hotel, air fare, etc.) if the vehicle is not as described (or if Seller doesn't otherwise agree to make reasonable adjustment). Located in Edgewater, Maryland, just a couple miles from Annapolis. Seller willing to do (only) minor leg work to assist Buyer. QUESTIONS: Ask whatever you like - I'll do my best to answer. On Dec-20-14 at 14:24:37 PST, seller added the following information: SELLER'S LIMITED $500.00 WARRANTY @ "BUY NOW" PRICE ONLY: Seller will reimburse Buyer up to $500.00 in actual costs, should any be incurred, for any mandatory repair necessitated by mechanical breakdown occurring during first 500 miles or 7 days (whichever comes first) that reflects a change in condition from the time of purchase, accidents excluded (i.e., blown tire, starter motor fails, etc.) at "Buy Now" price only.
