1999 MITSUBISHI MONTERO SPORT LIMITED SHORT 3 DAY AUCTION WITH NO RESERVE HIGHEST BID WINS NEWLY REBUILT TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT MOTOR WITH LOW MILEAGECosmetically the car is in INCREDIBLE Shape for years/mileage, only issue i can find is one missing center cap you can get here on Ebay for 30 bucks! I bought this Montero sight unseen at an auction. I paid over $1600 after fees and then another $250 in shipping. Upon Arrival the transmission appeared to be stuck in 3rd gear and the brakes had some issues. The transmission wound up really being a mystery. It was obviously a New rebuild as it was completely clean, repainted, brand new wire harness, etc. and no leaks at all. After a lot of painstaking diagnosis it was discovered that the computer inside the transmission was cracked. Typically this would be in excess of $1600 to repair. Luckily we know a Mitsubishi Dealer Mechanic and $480 dollars later the car is shifting like brand new Next the Front Right and Rear Left Calipers were replaced and entire brake system was flushed and new fluid added. After another $440 the car stops on a dime now. The car drives unbelievably well. 2 wheel drive, 4 wheel high and even 4 wheel low…all work perfectly, no transfer case noise at all This car is a 148K mile body (never hit…see carfax) with a “new” transmission and a replacement motor that can’t have more than 50K on it, I mean it doesn’t make a single noise…as quiet as a new Honda! No Valve noise, no nothing. You can see the junk yard markings on the motor in the pics. Tires are like New Someone put quite a bit into this car, with the rain guards, fog lights, and bumper guards all around. What’s wrong with it? -The front Drivers seat is a little worn (see pics) with some tears. -The exhaust pipe (pre muffler) leaks and needs to be replaced/patched/welded -Battery is a little weak -The little cargo cover from rear interior is missing (see pic) I am upside down in this car and into it for $3K now. Here is a 3 day auction with a low opening bid…Someone is going to get a truck that is going to go another 148K ! Do the research…you cannot kill these things. Car has EVERY option…front and rear heated seats, sunroof, leather etc. Winter is coming, this is big, safe and really good V6 Gas mileage 18/21 MPG for a price you can’t beat. Look at my feedback, there are no games or misrepresentations, just good cars for good prices…I’m going to lose money on this one but someone is going to get a deal.
