1981 Corvette.  100% original factory paint.  100% original interior. Numbers matching.  St. Louis build.  Color code 28, Dark Blue Metallic. 2,522 were made in '81 in this color, 40,606 Corvettes made in '81 total. 292 interior color code for dark blue leather.  Very heavily optioned including gymkhana suspension. Maintained and capable of being driven great distances right now. Stainless steel brake calipers, fresh fluids, good tires and brake pads. All lights inside and out work as well as the factory radio, speakers, and antenna.  All the gauges work as well as the heat and a/c. All power features work inside and out.   You don't find all original Vette's of this era.  The factory paint was fragile and so was the leather.  The bumpers would discolor and warp, not to mention they were super easy to scratch.  Ironically these are very good cars otherwise.  The drivetrains and chassis are robust.  More importantly they are fun to drive.  A totally pleasing but different experience from what you are used to today.  Narrow bodied and gobs of low end torque. This Corvette drives with no obnoxious rattles and starts, idles, and shifts are new. Please note this was also the last year for the carburetor setup. The next year was the cross fire fuel injection which is difficult to keep running properly.   You will look long and hard to find an original paint 1981 Corvette with these miles.  I just drove this Corvette to Taos and back to Santa Fe with zero issues.  120 mile round trip through the mountains.
