Vehicle Detail
I am relisting this car for sale due to a non-paying bidder. The aforementioned bidder asked all of his questions and priced out shipping across the country after he won the auction. Then he decided he didn't want the car with no regard to the seller. PLEASE ask your questions BEFORE bidding on this item. IF you have less than 10 feedbacks, contact me before bidding, or I will cancel your bid! With that bit of nastiness out of the way, on to the details. ************************************************************************************************************************************************ Up for sale is a 1985 Porsche 928S. The VIN number listed above is incorrect. This is due to the fact that this vehicle is a euro-model (Grey Market) car. The VIN number is WP0ZZZ92ZFS841191. It was imported into the US by a private party. In 1985, the ROW (Rest of World) models had the 4.7L engine with 310 PS (228 kW/306 hp) and not the 5.0L engines as the USA-DELIVERED cars did. I am selling this vehicle for the estate of a former customer. The estate has a clear title in hand and transfer will be no problem. The vehicle has been sitting unused since approximately 2007. I drained all the nasty gas out of it, substituted the fuel pump with used unit, but the engine will not start. I want to restate that THE ENGINE DOES NOT RUN. There is fuel pressure and spark, but the engine module is not switching the injectors on and off, and the engine computer is not grounding the fuel pump relay. I believe the engine to be in good condition due to good compression across all of the cylinders. Because of this, it will be sold as-is, where-is with absolutely no warranty expressed or implied. There are a lot of good points to the car. The one receipt I have for the car shows a timing belt service was performed just 500 miles ago, although it was done on 1/23/04. This car has the desirable 5-speed transmission with a rare limited slip differential. The exhaust system looks to have been replaced shortly before the car was retired from service. The brakes are good condition as are the polished wheels and the tires. Certain parts of the interior are excellent, others not so much. The seats, carpets and most interior panels are very nice, but the leather dash is pretty nasty, as is the center armrest. The headliner on the sunroof panel is peeling. The exterior of the car is in good shape physically, but the clearcoat is faded and worn off in several spots. Please look at the photos to see the condition of the interior and exterior. With a battery in the car, it seems like most of the electrical items are working. This car could be returned to service or used for it's wealth of desirable parts. Please ask any questions BEFORE bidding. The car is available for inspection and can be raised on a lift (with some notice) for inspection of the underside. The vehicle is located in Northern Virginia approximately an hour west of Washington, DC. I can be reached at 540-270-4955 to answer any questions potential bidders may have. The auction will run to it's end, so don't ask me to end the auction early.
