Vehicle Detail
This auction is NO RESERVE, for an '87 Jaguar XJS. First of all, you cannot drive it home. If you are looking for something you'll ever use as a daily driver... please search for just about anything other than this car. If you're still interested, here are the details. I bought this as a running, driving project that hasn't gotten the attention it deserves; except from the local police because it hasn't been moved in ages. I have nowhere else to store the car, and I would like to see it go to a good home rather than be impounded. It has NOT been sitting in the grass, I just put it there to get it off the street today. The good:Theoretically, with a new battery and fresh fluids; it should still run and drive. The A/C actually worked when I parked it.It looks pretty decent.Reman ECU in trunk, and newer vacuum line to it. Almost brand new Pirelli P4000 tires, and the wheels are all in nice condition. There don't seem to be any electrical gremlins. Seriously.Gets more attention than my Corvette. It's a classic Jag. The bad:It's a classic Jag.It leaks every fluid known to man.Driver's side rear is going to need a new wheel bearing. It was noisy when I parked it; and I'm guessing it still is.There is some rust around the wheelwells, from some idiot parking it in the street for the last two years and expecting it to stay nice. The clearcoat is peeling a little on the hood, also as a result of the above. The factory radio is present, but doesn't work. Someone else cut the original wiring harness and added an aftermarket radio, which is no longer in the car. It will need a new coolant temp and ambient air temp sensor. It ran ok with the ambient air unplugged, but would backfire under acceleration when both were connected. The horn doesn't work, but I think this has to do with not being connected to the horn pad. It's going to need a battery. Jumping it won't work; nor should you ever try to jump start an old Jag unless you like replacing stuff that wasn't broken before. The stitching on the front seats has come apart in a few places. Easy to fix, though... and there are no tears in them. The wood veneers on the dash have seen better days. This is typical for these cars. This is about all I remember from the grand total of about 100 miles I've put on this car. Any questions, please ask... and again, it's NO RESERVE! Winning bidder will need to make a deposit of $100 through PayPal within 48 hours of winning the auction; and full payment is expected within 7 days of auction close. The car is located in Columbus, Ohio. I will not ship the car, but will make every effort to help facilitate that if you want to have it picked up.
