1970 Pontiac Trans Am. This is a very solid car for a restoration project. It is a matching numbers 400 cid RAM AIR lll 345 HP 430 FT/LB Torque. This car also has Herb Adams tuned suspension to include the battery being located in the trunk for better weight distribution. The car has all documents from new and is a PHS (Pontiac Historic Services) documented car. The motor and transmission have been completely rebuilt. Over $7500 spent on rebuild. Many new (NOS) or after market new parts are included with the car. I have taken on too many projects and this one must go. The engine was professionally rebuilt as was the transmission. (photos) Over $7500 spent on rebuild. Many rebuilt parts are included with the car. The Rochester Quadrajet Carbeurator has been professionally rebuilt (photo) as have the starter and alternator (photo) The passenger side rear quarter panel is rusted through (see photo) the driver side is not bad at all (typical for passenger side to rust due to salt/slush etc on side on right shoulder of road due to crown/ plowing). The car was complete when I purchased it with the exception of the drivers door interior door panel that is missing. When the engine was removed, all bolts and bric a brac were bagged and labeled. The floor panels have surface rust on the topside that does not effect their structural integrity (opinion) and have one or two rust through spots less than dime size. Bottom side looks better than topside, the passenger floor board has had a small 1.5 in x 1.5 in hole cut in it for some unknown reason. The trunk interior shows surface rust on the main body and can be seen in the photo showing the battery tray (Herb Adams) (photo). Herb Adams is a suspension specialist who tuned Trans Am and sold after market kits for Pontiacs. This car has had some Herb Adams tuning done to the suspension as evidenced by the battery tray positioning. Herb Adams was to Pontiac what Yenko was to Camaro and to a lesser extent, perhaps , what Shelby was to Ford. The car is located in Pottstown, PA for anyone wanting to view the vehicle.
