Looking at a great driving 69 280SE coupe,W111  that was converted into a convertible , it runs and looks great, strong Engine, transmission shifts very smoothly, brakes are good, power steering is good, fresh tune up.The A/c is inop, some of the windows don't work could be a switch. The car does not have a soft top, so you would need to complete the conversion.or you can drive it the way it is, like I have been. I have owned and driven this car for many years, and it's been a pleasure to drive, I drive it on the freeway at 60mph and sounds and feels wonderful. As you know these cars are going up in value every year, so don't wait till next year and wished that you should have bought one sooner. one like this complete sold for over $50,000 last year, still a fraction of what the original ones going for these days upwards of $200,000.
