This is a European spec 1992 Mercedes Benz 600 SEL vehicle available for sale. Because this is a euro spec Mercedes, eBay will not allow me to use the true VIN. Actual VIN is WDB1400571A029712. US DOT approved and vehicle has been registered in both GA and FL. Has passed emission every year of ownership in GA. Listing does not include the Brabus wheels as pictured unless final bid is at least $4,000. The good: * Engine is in good condition, quiet when running and car starts right up. * Transmission shifts smoothly and does not slip. * All electronics work including the close assist doors which is my favorite feature of these cars because you do not have to shut the car doors fully and the car will "suck" the doors into their fully closed position. * Paint is in good condition as you can see the reflection of the trees on the body and this is without having waxed the car. Last buff/wax was over 3 years ago. * Interior is in above average condition. Black leather seats are in great condition, no rips or tears and this includes the arm rest. * I'm the third owner and owned the vehicle for the last 6 years. Description from the person I purchased this 600 from is as follows:"I am the 2nd owner of this magnificent luxurious dark grey (almost black) car that was originally p in Germany by a German Insurance Company executive, who had the car shipped to the U.S.A. for personal use during his annual winter visits to Palm Beach, Florida.The original purchase price was $147,000.00. eBay's computer did not recognize my VIN #, so I was advised o insert 0000000000000000 as the vehicle's VIN #. The correct Vin # is WDB1400571A029712. I believe original owner did not smoke, and no one has smoked in the car since I purchased it 5/01/2000 with German odometer showing 120,934 KM, or, about 75,584 miles. I replaced the German instrument panel with one made for USA models, so the speedometer now registers MPH, and the odometer registers Miles. l have an adapter for the AM/FM Cassette player so that you can play single CDs. Additional options include an automatic hydraulic leveling system, Power front and rear seats, 3 position drivers seat memory, power inside and outside rear vision mirrors, power door locks, power rear w shade and power steering. There are 2 power options that do not work:(1) the power feature for lowering the steering wheel (which I never repaired because the steering wheel is in a very comfort position for driving) and (2) the power trunk lid closing mechanism, that gently and fully closes the lid when it is manually lowered to within about 1 inch of the fully closed position. ( I have tried to repaired, but the German model of this car has a different trunk power locking mechanism than the models, and I have been unable to get the proper part )- you can still manually open and close the and unlock and lock the trunk using a master key.The NADA Guide lists current High Retail $11, Clean Retail $10,6225, and Low Retail $8,775. The car has not been wrecked. I have recently had radiator hoses replaced, and previously had extensive repairs to the car which included replacing the harness, because the factory installed wiring harness for this year Mercedes was defective, and eventually failed on all of this year model cars. Known issues now including those mentioned in the eBay listing quoted above: * Transmission takes awhile for reverse gear to engage. Possibly only needs transmission and torque convert flush/filter. * Needs battery as existing battery has died since I do not drive the 600SEL often. (batter from one of my other cars was used to take photo of odometer). Will include battery if final sale price is above $3,500.00. * Rear windscreen has a crack and missing window trim from a bad repair under an insurance glass claim. Molding included for replacing trim. * Rear passenger headliner and vanity mirror needs repair/replacing. It's has been hard to find passenger vanity mirrors in the original black; but I have a set of gray vanity mirrors that can be painted black and installed. * Needs window regulator for rear passenger (driver's side). Rear window regulator (passenger side) may need replacing soon as the window was slow lowering and raising the last time I used it.
