Selling my 2004 s80 and quite frankly it pains me to sell it but here's is the scoop. I will start with the good: In the last 18 months , the following has been replaced. I have spent a lot of money on this vehicle and it's never failed me meaning it has never ever failed to start and always starts smoothly. The engine still starts and hums as it should. Below are the newer items: Oil change and filter *fuel pump (by Volvo)* front shocks * front rotors and breaks /rear brakes x4*lower control arm bushings x2 *front struts x2*front strut mount and bearings x2*new radiator* timing belt and water pump * cv half shaft x2*interior is in very good condition no rips or tears as the leather has always been conditioned and treated*exterior is in good/fair condition just dents and some scratches no body damage nothing major As you can see by the car's interior leather and the amount spent on servicing parts above this car was not abused. However, my concern lies in the ability of the mechanic to properly install all parts per Volvo in installion protocol. The bad: * the tranny has been repaired but unfortunately not running as smooth as it should and drives through gears for a couple minutes before refusing to go into gear. Mechanic replaced clutches, solenoids, torque converter etc. but just didn't complete the job. The s80 is prone to transmission issues as the tranny was built by GM so the majority of these cars eventually meet the same fate. Error P0733 (slipping in 3rd gear). The issue is noticeable at a stoplight but never on a highway etc. A proper tranny mechanic should be able to resolve the problem. The car will also need an alignment and thermostat sensor ( cheap part) . Not necessary but causing the vehicle to register coolant low warning light.
