Highlights: This C5, as part of the group of C5 Registry members that pioneered the inaugural event, was among the 20 plus that went to Le Mans in 2000 to stay in a Chateaux near the city of Le Mans, take in and tour the countryside, then participate in the Le Mans event, as VIP guests of the Corvette Division of Chevrolet, taking two laps, at speed, on the full Le Mans course, as well as participating in the Parade of Drivers the day preceding the event. Derogatory Items: (1) 12-disc CD changer does not work; (2) front center spoiler missing; (3) some rear storage compartment lids have broken latches; (4) Rear speakers to Factory Bose Sound System need replacing; (5) minor seat covering wear, drivers side, at shoulder area of seat back; (6) 3 ash-holes (yes, smoking is a filthy habit; quit and never looked back), one on carpet between passenger seat and door threshold, one at driver seat, same area, and one at driver’s door armrest; (7) minor surface damage to lower dash panel, drivers side, a result of a careless replacement of the unit after a service at the local Chevy dealer; (7) shifter boot has seen better days, the replacement is included in the vehicle purchase; (8) there is an occasional, annoying rattle from the rear hatch-back resulting from a loose nut or something moving around when cornering hard, or racking back-and-forth; (9) one or more of the body to frame bolts need tightening to eliminate the occasional creaking noise that occurs when negotiating steep inclines; (10) the suspension has been lowered resulting in having to take care when negotiating changes in surface elevation and speed bumps.
