Vehicle Detail
1999 Chevrolet Corvette FRC I am selling my 1999 Fixed Roof Coupe Corvette. I purchased this car earlier this year from one of my collision customers. The car was in a garage that the roof collapsed on, the roof of the garage had started to fall and before the car could be removed the roof eventually collapsed. That being said it fell in 2 steps and was not a hard impact to car. My intent was to have the guys in the shop repair this car for me this fall if we slow down. I have since purchased a ZL1 Camaro that I am going to repair instead so I have decided to sell this car to fund the ZL1.The majority of the damages are scratches on the body panels. I was planning on painting entire vehicle even though a few of the panels may buff. Both the windshield and back glass were broken and I have had them removed. I had located a windshield from a local supplier and found several used back glass on car-part. The roof and hood both have some fiberglass repairs needed but can easily be repaired. The only reason this car has a salvage title is due to his insurance company requiring it in order to pay out on repairs. The previous owner had decided not to fix the car and to cash settle. Before they would release funds he had to produce the title listed as salvage, so it does have a Georgia title with Salvage listed on the front.I worked with the original insurance company during the estimating process, my feeling was the roof and hood could both easily be repaired but the adjuster did not want to deal with the Fiberglass work and wrote for replacement which is why the estimate was above their repairable value. He also informed me that the total cars at 50-60% of value instead of the standard 80-90%. By no means do the roof or hood either one need replaced. The car has 109k miles on it but I promise they are very well cared for miles. The previous owner who I bought from is an Officer in the military and was very particular about his car. Everything on the car appears to be in working order, I did have to jump start it this morning to get it out for pictures. Also I noticed while I was moving it out that the Right Headlight was making a clicking noise but I turned them on and it did pop up as it should so not sure about the noise, maybe just a noise in that area being caused by battery so low because the noise did stop after the car ran for a few seconds. If you have any questions please let me know. This a great repairable car, or I suppose a parts car but I personally think it would be a shame not to fix.
