This is a very unique 1975 Vega GT V6 Kammback Wagon ... Good Luck and Happy Bidding Everyone!!! Here is a little background. I preface this by saying the following information is undocumented solely based on verbal information provided to me by the previous owner. I have been in touch with GM and have been unable to verify the existence of this particular car. I have also been in contact with the GM Heritage Center and once again the records for this particular car were unavailable. Accordingly, the reserve is set to reflect the fact that this car is a mystery. If you have resources to document this car's history as a test model... it's value could be truly priceless. Good Luck Everyone!!! In 1975 GM was moving forward with various models. The Monza was introduced and was slated to become the eventual replacement for the venerable Vega. The Monza was developed from the Vega and was basically a Vega with a different body and different options. Among these options were different engine platforms other than the standard 2.3 liter four cylinder offered on the Vega. The Monza was available with a V6 as well as a small V8. These advancements gave light to a test program to reinvigorate the Vega. 5 test cars were built using various body and engine combinations. This car is the Vega Kammback GT V6!!! Painted in Pumpkin Orange with Black Rally Striping, with the following factory equipment:3.8 liter Buick V6Saginaw 4spd with T Handle Reverse Lockout4.56 gear setB&W Posi Track Rear EndBlack Interior 130mph Speedometer (different than the standard 85mph or 120mph speedometers Vegas came with)High RPM Tachometer (different once again)Full Padded Dash (Unique to this car)GT BadgingV6 Badging Factory drilled, not stick on'sLower Front AirdamUpper Rear Chrome Wing (very rare)These five test cars were built to investigate possibilities for the Vega's future. In the end the Vega was replaced and this test model project ended. To my knowledge this is the only one of the five to become available for purchase, and the whereabouts of the four other test cars are unknown. It draws people's curiosity and gets tons attention every time I take it out. The gear ratio makes this a very quick car, hard to beat at any stoplight ...several have tried and been beaten. The car has a couple areas that will eventually need attention. It has a minor vibration at idle as well as a vibration at speed. More than likely it is time for a new harmonic balancer and a new set of u-joints. The paint is faded from the desert sun and there are a few dings, minor rust spots, and scratches here and there that should be addressed at time of repainting. Rock chips and scratches have been touched up and the car has a good coat of wax kept on it to protect it from the weather and sun. The interior is exceptional. Both front and rear seats are in excellent shape. The Glass is perfect and free from cracks or chips. The Headliner is in great shape with functioning dome light. The NOS system has been professionally installed. The controls have been mounted in the dash recess with a switch to "enable" or "arm" the system and a button to unleash the nitrous....word to the wise, hang on tight and don't hold the button for more than a three count. This car absolutely flys!!! This is a very unique car. An absolute blast to drive and a real head turner, plus this car's rarity cannot be understated. Test Model cars are exceedingly hard to document and even harder to purchase. I have enjoyed owning this Vega and proudly offer it for sale here on ebay.
