A rare and famous car raced by big name European drivers in the 1950s such as thew great and tragic Mike Hawthorn. A predecessor to the famous Mark 2, THE classic 1960s sedan. This is the first unibody sedan made by Jaguar. Low mileage car. Partially disassembled for restoration. It has all the chrome as far as I can tell and the chrome is good. Clear work needed on front-right dogleg and rear left. Solid floors! Head removed to repair head gasket; turned over regularly. Restoration needed but awesome start. I love this car, so advanced for its day and rare today. I bought it initially for its engine and transmission but can't bear to break it up. A predecessor to the famous Mark 2..." was referring to the model in general not this particular car. It is rare in that it is manual and a 3.4 L as it started as a 2.4L engine and only later - half way through its run - was bumped up. To repeat, this is not Mike Hawthorn's particular car as he died months before it was built on January 22, 1959. He died in a car crash while racing/driving this model.
