0 0 1 440 2512 The Towne Family 20 5 2947 14.0 Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE 1971 Jensen Interceptor Saloon Series II 125-5298 1 of 432 Born March 26, 1971 California Sage with an Olive Interior If you are looking at this car, you are probably already a Jensen owner. This is a true Series II with ALL the Series II unique bits still in it and on it. Also, if you are a member of the Jensen Owners Club, you probably know me, Tim in Northern California. I found this car a month ago while I was on an accelerated search to find another car in restorable condition to replace my 1974 Interceptor that was totaled 3 months ago. I looked at and considered many cars but ended up with a 1972 Series III Interceptor from Texas. How did I get this car? I had already bought the 1972 and had it shipped from Texas when I got a lead on this 1971 car in the San Francisco Bay area. Being a common Jensen owner, I went to see it and it turned out to be a Series II. This car was in a wrecking yard uncovered for many years and unfortunately has been attacked by wind and water. The owner of the wrecking yard passed away and his family decided to sell. This is one of a number of complete cars they decided to hang on to in order to confirm there wasn’t a market for the remains. This particular car, because of the EXTENSIVE rust was on its way to the crusher. I seem to have a soft spot in my heart (brain) for these cars and made a deal for the car to save it and consider it for restoration instead of the 1972. The fact that it has all the characteristics included that make it unique from a Series I and a Series III was very attractive. Skip forward a few sleepless nights: because I have 2 donor Series III cars and I bought my wrecked Series III back from the insurance company, I have decided to restore the 1972 Series III from Texas. I am going to try to sell this car whole as a donor to a current owner of a Series II or someone with a solid body that can be restored as a II. The body is very rusty but not a loss, the 383 engine is here but missing the carb but complete (not a runner). I have many carburetors from Interceptors you can choose from if you want one included. The exciting part is that it has a complete center console (including the very rare switches), original steering wheel, and all the badging on the exterior. I believe the radio is also original but I can’t confirm that from existing records. Additionally, it has the Rostyle wheels instead of the later Alloys. The front and rear bumpers are very straight and haven’t been attacked badly by the rust. Please look at the pictures carefully and email me with any questions. I just want to get out of the car what I have into, which is not very much. Unfortunately, if the whole car does not sell, I will be in a position to pull all the unique Series II items off the car and sell them individually, which will certainly yield the amount of money I am hoping to get for the whole car. The body would then have to be recycled.Help me save this one and lets get this car or the parts where they need to be.Buy it now price is much higher than reserve. If you want the car before end of auction, this gives you an option.
