Vehicle Detail

Hello everyone and thanks for taking the time to view my wonderful 68 Ford. This F100 has been around my home town for as long as I can remember. I bought it from the second owner a little over a year ago. He bought it from the original owner. Anyways, the first owner bought this truck new and babied it all of its life. The story goes that he was a plumber and every morning he would wipe his truck down before he left to go to work. His thinking was that a clean truck represents what kind of person you are. He has sense passed away, but I have heard from four separate people that he literally rubbed the paint off of it wiping it down and cleaning it so much. The second owner in 1978, had a poor repaint done on the truck then took it to a very reputable mechanic to have the drivetrain rebuilt. This was done at 55,000 miles. The original 360 was fine and didn't need to be rebuilt but it was smoking for whatever reason, so he went ahead and had it totally rebuilt and while it was out, he had the transmission rebuilt as well. There are a ton of receipts in the glove box. This truck runs and drives very well and its actually very comfortable. I wouldn't be afraid to hop in it and drive across the country. Although I wouldn't guarantee it to do so, I wouldn't be afraid of it by any means :) This is just a good old truck that has never been in an accident, nor has it ever really had any problems. Here are a few details about the truck: VIN: F10YKC43558F10- F100 2wdY- 360 V8 EngineK- Kansas City, MOC43558- Production number shows that it was built in November of 1967 Data Plate Decode: 131 JM F100 N 81 G 1705000 172 3800 61131 - Body Style Long Wheel BaseJM- Rangoon Red with Wimbledon White (Two Tone) PaintF100- F Series Truck 5000GVWN- Dark Red Crinkle Vinyl w/ Red Grenada Pattern Vinyl Interior Trim81- Conventional CabG- Automatic Transmission17- 3.25 Rearend gear ratio05000- Max GVW in lbs172 3800- 172 Horse Power at 3800rpm61- DSO Dallas Texas This truck has always been in Booneville, which is in the northeastern corner of Mississippi. It was ordered with a lot of nice options. Starting with the original 360 V8 of course. Secondly, it has power steering and power brakes which is a must when operating a truck of this size. It also has the rare and desirable Ranger package. The trim on this truck is beautiful.....even the impossible to install correctly chrome trim around the windshield. It also has the gauge package, so its nice not having idiot lights on the dash. It has an aftermarket cassette player and the dash only has one tiny crack in it. There are a few things that I want to disclose about the truck. As mentioned before, the truck had a poor paint job. There are breaks in the paint, there is checking in the paint in several places, there are chips in the paint, and lastly there is paint missing on the hood and on the bottom of the drivers side fender. Both the hood and the LH fender have noticeable areas of paint missing. Although it isn't that noticeable at 10ft away, or while driving, its still there and I just don't want any surprises when you come to pick it up or when you take delivery of it. A paint job would make this truck look phenomenal because the body is absolutely superb. I have been all over this truck. Ive had it on a lift, I've crawled in under it several times and I have certainly been under the hood many times showing people the engine and whatnot. There is literally no rust to be found on this truck other than a little bit of surface rust in the bed. Yes, I know its a long bed which isn't as desirable as a short bed, but when is the last time that you saw one this nice with a factory 360, factory automatic, no rust, and the factory Ranger package that you can drive anywhere you want? As long as you aren't expecting a show truck, this truck should make anyone happy. Please see the pictures below so you will know just how nice the truck is. These pictures look great and its hard to depict how bad the paint really is because I use a very good camera. I will post some close ups of the imperfections in the paint later this evening. Please notice how nice the bed is on this truck. There is merely surface rust in only a few areas. I have literally drove this truck all over the hillside. I do love the truck and I will miss it. My wife and I just brought our baby girl home from the NICU (this is our first), so I am selling off several things. I really think that you will enjoy and appreciate this truck. Of course, I cant give a warranty or any form of guarantee, but I do know that this has been a good truck for me. Thanks so much for all the interest, so quickly. I appreciate it. -Matt662-416-0900On Oct-06-14 at 21:40:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks everyone, my reserve is almost met. I've added a buy it now price as well. I really want this truck to go to a good home where it'll be used and cared for as I have. It really means a lot to me. I appreciate all of you participating. It's for such a good cause. This truck goes toward taking care of our new born baby whom just got home from the NICU.
