For sale one black 1970 Chevrolet Malibu 2dr with red interior. Powered by a Merlin III 540ci motor backed with a Hughes turbo-400 transmission rated to handle 850+ hp. Trans is a reverse shift pattern with a Trans brake. The rear-end is a 12 bolt posi with new 4:10 gears, strange axles, C-clip eliminators and all new bearings. Numerous suspension upgrades; custom rack pinion steering as well as four wheel disc brakes to stop this beast. Custom SS exhaust with electric dumps. In 2012 both engine and rearend were reconditioned after a complete disassembly and inspection. The transmission was purchased new with a new 3500 stall. Merlin III motor: 540ci four bolt cross-drilled main engine. Product of World Industries rated to handle from 500 to 2000hp. Hughes transmission: TH400 with Pro Series fluid release transbrake with reverse shift pattern. Rated for use with 1,000+ flywheel horsepower Malibu has a 12 gallon fuel cell with separate filter and electric pump in the trunk to supply the 850 CFM Mighty Demon carb. The motor does have a Pete Jackson gear drive and MSD ignition. Solid reliable performance on pump gas for a cruise or a little 103 octane for a quick trip down the quarter mile. 2007 video against a non stock Viper. At the time the Malibu had a much smaller cam and only 3:73 gears and now a bigger cam and gears. Haven't been to a track to see just how much of an improvement....Pictures show why it's time for a new home......only third time out this year and not to a car wash.
