** REASONABLE RESERVE ***Up for auction to the highest bidder is my 1965 AMC Marlin. Red exterior with the classic Black accent striping.Black interiorThe Red Exterior with the Black Interior is one of the nicer and most popular paint combinations available in 1965 .The Classic Red with Black gives it much more of a performance car look and feel.Floor console shifterIt has the biggest engine available in 1965 with the 327 - 4 barrel carbA smooth shifting 3 speed automatic transmission w/ floor mounted console shifterThe Dual exhausts have a nice deep note, rumble, and sound to them - without being obnoxious. Marlin automobiles were produced for 3 years: 1965 thru 1967 - only 17,419 were made in TOTAL1965 Production was 10,327 units -- 1966 Production was 4,547 units -- 1967 Production was 2,545 units It is an mostly all original, 1965 AMC Marlin, of which few were produced, and fewer survive today. It has not been molested or hacked into - and for the most part - remains as it was produced in 1965.This is a 50 year old car - next year! And for a 50 year old car - it still gets many many compliments and comments. Most folks do not even know what it is, having so few survivors left on the road, and it is a real conversation starter. For me - that was the fun in owning it - the uniqueness. So, I actually hate to part with it, Now - this car is not quite "cruise in" ready - but close. With a little TLC and not a lot of money - it would not take much to put it in "Saturday night cruise in" condition. I simply do not have the space or the time to devote to this particular car at the moment. I have owned this car for about 4 years. I purchased it from a person Maryland.I have done quite a few things to it over the course of time I have owned it. Including had the fuel tank cleaned and restored (boiled); a new close to original Edlebrook 4 bbl carburetor w/ electric choke installed, new fuel pump, new brakes, tires, and several other things.I have tried to keep it well maintained and running well- which it does The car does need a few things done - to make it a real show cruiser. Many are mostly interior. The dash is cracked - and I am including a spare dash which is in very nice condition as part of the sale. The passenger seat needs recovering. It needs a new headlinerAnd there is a rather small spot on the drivers floor pan that needs to be replaced - along with the interior carpet The exterior is in generally very nice shapeThere is however a spot above the passenger's side rear wheel lip where the paint has cracked and that needs to be re-prepped and repaintedThe trim is in typical shape for original, 50 year old chrome, with some usual pitting and such ( I do however have many spare pieces of trim available)The rear bumper has a slight tweak in it on the passenger's side, which can be straightened by a bumper repair person, or I have another spare bumper which would most likely need to be re-chromed., The undercarriage is actually pretty decent for a northern car of 50 years age. Were it me, I would take the time with wire wheels, and some light sandblasting, paint etc, - to further make it look great. But overall - not all corroded and rotted. Under hood is generally very acceptable.Clean - all painted factory colors. No - there is not a lot of chrome and fancy new pieces, but all critical items are in good working condition, the engine bay is clean, and it looks mostly stock as it did in 1965.Which makes it perfect for either the person who wants to retain the stock look, or someone perhaps wanting to jazz it up a bit for car shows. The engine is super easy to work on - with only the basic accessories and minimal piping or hosing to get the way or routine maintenance. Again - one of the things I love about these cars. ***ALSO ** - I have many extra parts including a complete 287 engine, transmission, interior seats, interior pieces, exterior trim pieces, body panels, deck lid, radio, manuals, wheel covers and much much more. Now - I know this is eBay and you are buying a 50 year old car - almost sight unseen. But I've done it successfully many times however. So - I encourage anyone interested to ask as many question as possible, request more detailed pictures, and call me if you need to know anything specific about the car.I can always be reached at 706-263-3210 to answer any questions. Text is fine as well - if kept to a dull roar.I own many collectible cars, and take pride in all my purchases and occasional sales. And I don't often sell.In other words, I'm a car guy and I don't scam people or hide serious issues or even minor blemishes - I shoot straight and I'll show you what it is.The last thing I would want is an unsuccessful sale or an upset purchaser. These cars are a lot of fun to own - again mainly due to the fact that people simply never see one on the road. And truth be told - with the 327 4bbl V8 - they have a lot of performance for a car of this make and vintage. And it exudes a sporty, performance persona - even for a "Rambler"For more information on the Marlin, its history and other fun facts- you can always check out the Marlin Owner's Club by searching for marlinautoclub ** Sale Terms **$500 non-refundable deposit is required to be received via PayPal within 48 hours after the sale ends.Balance due with 7 days after auction ends.- unless the buyer and seller make special arrangements otherwise. Please only bid if you really intend to buy.
