RE-LISTED TWICE because of two eBay buyers would would not pay or respond to emails! If you do not want to pay for this motorcycle, please do not bid on it because you are pushing out other respected buyers who would have bought the motorcycle. I will get eBay involved as I had with the last two non-payers who did not respond to their emails. I have thoroughly explained this beautiful 1972 Honda that was completely rebuilt with a new motor. You are bidding on the motorcycle only. No other warranties are expressed, written or or implied.Overview of this 1972 Honda:I stumbled upon a motorcycle that I had found on the side of a barn in Riverside, California.I took a look at this specimen and saw how light and nimble this motorcycle was. At the time, I was looking for a bike that would make a great café racer, light, compact, perhaps even a bike that I might have had as a younger man with the traditional forms of metal and as little plastic as possible.I paid the rancher the money and carted this specimen to what you are looking at in the pictures today.Custom rebuild with clean title and California License plate.About the Build:The tank is original and was hand leaded to reform its current shape and the corrosion was removed from the inside. The paint on the tank and “hornet’s” seat were done by a local vendor. I had the frame powder coated by another vendor to make the bike last another 43 years. To continue to ensure that this bike would at least last another 43 years, all of the hardware was either old or nonexistent, and was replaced by industrial grade stainless and torqued back to the original specifications. Some of the motor mounts were hand fabricated by me using a high grade stainless form of metal and then powder coated. The motor that is attached to these mounts is brand new.The bike that was purchased from the ranch that day did not have a motor with it That motor would have been a 100cc, but the owner had said that his son had taken it apart a while ago with the hopes of rebuilding it, but never finished and was eventually lost.I already had a new motor that would fit this bike. The motor was cast using the same dies that came from the original Honda factory back in 1972. It is not a motor made directly by Honda, since Honda no longer makes this motor and it is not rebuilt, it is new with some upgrades. This "one-lung" motor was opened and various components were upgraded, like the clutch, sprockets and valve springs and in keeping to the light and compact nature of this bike, doubled the displacement to 200cc and the sprocket. I wanted to create an older café racer close to its most classic form, something that a local man or woman would have in their garage using ingenuity to make the bike lighter and faster, while leaning on the reliability of an Asian design and use of a few modern components to increase reliability and performance.I did leave the starter system on the motor, so you may choose to start the bike electronically, but in keeping with this vision above, the bike currently starts with a kick. The motor also runs off of the coil, but the lighting system is run off of a battery source. I was originally against the battery, but wanted the motor to run off 100% spark, while electing for a lighting system, which is why I had decided to redesign the bike in this way. You can elect to use the battery to run the lighting system, otherwise your motor’s electrical system is self-sufficient. If you choose, you could re wire it easily to run with the battery and/or starter. The battery is cased in a box fabricated by myself. It holds a standard battery that is found on most modern racing motorcycles on the market today. This battery can be purchased even at your local Wal-Mart off of the shelf. Both electrical systems have been converted to run off of 12 volts. I had rewired the entire system using modern wires, lighting and electrical practices. If you notice, some of the lighting on this specimen is the most modern aspect of this bike. I did not want to stick “lolly-pop” plastic turn signals and break lights on the bike. Instead, I had placed some LED turn signals and break lights that are tucked into the bike, giving that classic café racer air-streamline and low electrical usage rate. As for the riding feel, I also took care of this.I had replaced the rear suspension with brand new chrome springs, which makes the ride a more enjoyable one, not to mention that it gives the bike a more classic ride with a pleasant look on the eyes by the location of chrome on this part of the piece. The wheels are original and were re-polished by hand. The tires are brand new. The brake system was also rebuilt with brand new pads and wire system. The carburetor wire system was also replaced with the brand new carburetor. These systems mimic the original to keep to this café racer soul. The foot pegs were fabricated by myself and made more for speed. Each foot peg will hold your foot on nicely, but when you want to move faster, you can tuck your feet to where the second rider’s foot pegs are, all in keeping with the classic café racing tradition of streamline and pushing the edge with the items that you have available. In keeping to the classic practice of the café racer, I had removed the chunky rear fender and had a fiberglass vendor craft the classic long motorcycle “hornet’s” seat to remove a lot of weight from the motorcycle. The seat cushions were also made by hand by a local craftsman using nautical pads and a wearable cover. In keeping to the design and flair, I also added in a cushion for the rear “hornet’s” bulb so that you can tuck with this "one-lunger" in comfort. As with any new motor, there requires a break in period of 500 miles. Since this motor uses older technology, it requires you to keep the motor running often for a few minutes so as to keep the systems from unnecessary cleaning.Although this bike was completely rebuilt and redesigned, the motor is new (as described above) and there are other OEM components (like the tank), therefore, you may experience some aspects of the bike that need to be ironed out over time. For example, one of these aspects, but not limited to, that may need to be ironed out is adjusting the carburetor with a screwdriver after the break in period of the motor, etc. Also, depending on where you ship this piece of art, you may need to adjust the bike so that it operates under normal conditions with the ambient temperature (also done with a screwdriver). This bike is one of a kind and would be great in any collection, garage, living room or most importantly, to RIDE!Your completely rebuilt vintage café racer motorcycle is ready for you. Bid above. The buyer is responsible to put a $500 deposit down within 24 hours to secure this bike through Paypal. Complete payment would be required when picking up or shipping the bike. Terms are FOB shipping and payment would have to worked out before the motorcycle would be shipped (Paypal or Money Order). If you want me to ship to you internationally, I will require full payment before the bike will ship. Thank you.Happy Bidding!
