Vehicle Detail

1972 Plymouth Valiant Scamp, High-school project car for 2 generations of Mopar enthusiast, affectionately called the "Franken-Scamp" by family and friends. In the mid 80's the first generation brothers (my brother in-laws) replaced the entire power train and achieved an insane power to weight ratio that was never meant to be in a Scamp The original 318 engine is replaced with a 440CI Big Block professionally bored out and modified with performance cam by North NJ Performance Machine Shop of Emerson NJ. Automatic transmission is a 727 Torrque flight. Rear end is a 8 3/4" with 3:23 gear ratio. Engine is complemented with Direct-Connection Headers with SS exhaust. Eldelebrock aluminum Intake manifold under a 750 Holly 4 barrel carburetor. Vehicle has 14" Rally rims in good shape. Engine is mounted on Big Block K frame and torsion bars. The vehicle was moth-balled and garage kept from 1987-2012. In 2012 my son (the original owners nephew) set out on a mission to get is back on the road for when he got his license. His uncles took great pride in coaching my son on his mission to revive their scamp. In the last two years the vehicle has had numerous items replaced (fuel tank & lines, carburetor was re-built), a new BN shifter from Summit racing was installed. The car made it back on the road and passed inspection by my son's senior year and he proudly burnt a lot gas cruising the town. The vehicle continues to be garage kept. After being on the road for about 9 months the bolts came loose on the flex plate and the engine decoupled from the trans. My son has a new flex plate (in the box) and new bolts but he did not get to fixing it before he went off to college. I want my garage back and would like see it end up with another Mopar enthusiast. We have the chrome trim pieces in the garage but cannot guarantee they are all there. Engine has not been started in months but after a bit of coaxing will start run well. Vehicle is SOLD AS-IS and will need to be towed. The parts in the Franken-scamp can easily be flipped individually, or leave it as is, fix the flex-plate, hold on and burn some rubber.
