Vehicle Detail

1939 Ford Panel Truck, rescued from a pasture beside a barn, living the life of a storage shed. It had a previous life as a Kennedy Dairy truck...A hard life. It appears to have been broken and fixed many times before being put out to pasture. The original flathead was in pieces, so it was removed along with the old granny-gear it was bolted to. The front and rear axles were also pulled with their springs. The front axle was replaced with a four inch dropped axle, along with GM vented disc brakes and a de-arched reverse eye spring. The banjo was replaced with a Chevy S10, modified to accept a transverse spring and trailing arm rear suspension. Another de-arched reverse eye spring pack was also used. Motivation comes from a stock 305 Chevy. Chrome dress up and an aluminum intake with a Holley four barrel, and a vacuum advance style HEI. The motor is backed up to a World class T5. All parts used were standard auto parts store items, u-joints, clutch disc, starter, etc.. I wanted to be able to get parts anywhere. The interior is "primitive". The stock seat was missing, and was most likely a single or a jump setup with this being the milk man's ride. I used a Dodge Caravan rear seat to fit the width given. It is covered in coffee bean burlap sacks for the sake of looking more barnyard. The stock gauges are still in the uncut dash. The speedo reads about 10% fast, but the cluster isn't hooked up. I tried the gas gauge, but no-go. New sending unit and gas tank though. The important vitals are visible under the glovebox, where the oil and temp gauges were mounted along with a charge indicator. Now for the exterior...Ever heard the, "...but she has a great personality.." Well, she has a great personality...and a whole lot of it. I really cannot think of one straight panel, maybe a hood side? I suppose you could restore her, the metal isn't too rusty, just lumpy. That being said, I have had a fair amount of old cars, but this one gets more looks than any I've had. It could be fear, or maybe even dis-belief that it moves under it's own power, regardless, it draws attention. It is no rocket, but gets along pretty good and goes straight. It will scare the heck out of the Prius driver next to you! It comes with no warranties of any type. It does come with a clean and current Az. title that will be notarized for your registration pleasure as soon as full payment is cleared. Winner of the auction is to pay a 500$ non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of the close of auction. At this point, final payment options and arrangements can be made. Although shipping arrangements will have to be made by the winner, I will be more than happy to help in any way I can. I can also store the vehicle for a reasonable amount of time while you arrange for transport. I do, however, reserve the right to end the auction early as I have it listed locally as well. I hope she finds a good home, maybe even your home! Modern drivetrain in an old farm truck. Fun, and don't have to worry about where you park it. Yes, it is titled as a 1939 Ford. Clear title, not salvaged, bonded or any of the other terms they use. Yes, the title is in my name. The law out here gets kind of particular about that. No, it is not clipped or C-notched. Although it would look good, I still wanted to be able to drive it anywhere. Out here, that means dirt roads and ruts, and the occasional roadkill. None too pleasant with too low a car. Thank you all for the interest thus far. On Sep-08-14 at 21:36:23 PDT, seller added the following information: Reserve is dropped...Ready to find a new home!Remember, it's only original once, and this thing isoriginal! It's fun, it's coolIt's a redneck RV and hillbilly hot rod!
