This 1951 Mercury 2 door is in great condition and has not been modified at all. It is VERY clean and solid. It has the original 1951 Mercury V8 Flathead motor and 3-speed manual transmission w/ overdrive. This car has been garage kept/stored for 35 years. All original except for the interior, as it has been redone. Re-chromed bumpers, headlight rings, and trunk handle. The bumper guards have also been re-chromed; they are included but not attached. The head liner needs attention and there are two small rust areas in the lower front quarter panels. Aside from those two areas there are no major rust issues. Frame is solid and rust free; very clean under carriage.The car was originally a dark green but has received a black paint job. All glass is intact. The drives side window does have a crack. The car does not run although the engine does turn over when the ignition is activated. It may need a new distributer. The 6 volt electrical system works but will also need attention as it is the original wiring. The car currently does not have brake pressure as it may need a new master cylinder. The majority of the mechanical components are original. This 1951 Mercury 2 door is being sold as is. The buyer understands the vehicle is not running and needs some restoration. I bought it from a gentlemen who owns a vintage car shop in California who gave me the title, California plates, and a bill of sale.
