The XLR was a luxury roadster marketed by the Cadillac division of General Motors, assembled on the corvette Product Line in Bowling Green Kentucky. This was Cadillac's flagship sports car, and was based on teh Corvett's Y platform. The XLR featured its own unique styling, interior and suspension, and power retractable aluminum hartdtop, along with the powerful 4.6 L 320 hp Cadillac Northstar engine.Starting with the National Corvette Homecoming 30th anniversary in 2011, the "cousin" of the Corvette the Cadillac XLR has been included in the celebration. The XLR is welcomed at the annual homecoming at the NCH in Bowling Green, Kentucky. This includes special displays at the car shows, XLR seminars, XLR VIP appearances and inclusion in the vehicle parade and other activities. XLR Owners had their own "10 year Anniversary Homecoming" at the Bowling Green Plant on 28 September 2013. Owners from across the country and Canada were in attendance for plant tours of the C7 production line, car cruises, and a Car show sponsored by the Bowling Green Assembly Corvette Club. XLR Owners and Corvette Owners have shared several national events/gatherings. In addition to the National Corvette Homecoming, you'll find XLRs in attendance at Corvette Funfest, Bloomington Gold, and Carmel Artomobilia. Many owners also participate in the annual XLR “Rendezous”This 2004 XLR is one of only 3665 that rolled off the Corvette production line that year, being part of a very exclusive family. In total, only 15,460 cars were ever produced! Now is your chance to join this exclusive club! This XLR has only had 2 owners from the same family. The first owner (my Uncle) was a retired US Army Colonel who flew the Huey attack helicopter during Vietnam. He told me that the reason he picked the XLR was for the high performance, sleek lines and the unique Heads up display which reminded him of his headsup display in his chopper. I am the second owner and I am so very thankful he shared this fantastic car with me. I am truly sad to sell it and would love to be able to stay with my extended Corvette family, but lifestyles change and we have to say goodbye to some of our toys. The NEW owner of this car will have the time of their lives driving this high performance rocket. The car runs and handles like a true sports car. It is a Head Turner, everywhere you go. And very few were manufacturered. My Uncle actually ordered this one before they were even coming off the production line. So it is one of the early editions. It was repaired to new condition and total cost of repairs was $557.81. So you can see it was indeed a minor event. My Uncle wanted it perfectly restored so he made sure it was reported to his insurance company for the best quality repair. He was very diligent with regular service and I have been, and you will be very happy with the quality of this car.
