Vehicle Detail
This is a 1972 Chevrolet Cheyenne 20 Custom Camper one-owner truck. This is a very good, original truck that's had a lot of loving and no abuse. I got it from the original owner and it is still on the original title with his name. He was 87 years old at the time I bought the truck from him. He mainly used it for camping, not for a work truck, and you can tell he took very good care of it. This truck came from the factory with dual gas tanks and dual batteries. Both are very rare options. It also came from the factory with V8, 350, automatic, power-steering, power-brakes, air conditioning, and only has 121,667 miles on it, which are actual miles. I have a receipt for when the transmission was rebuilt approx 5000 miles ago. Timing chain was changed shortly after transmission was rebuilt. The truck doesn't leak oil or transmission fluid. It had a new starter put on it. The bed is not all beat up, but it does have a couple of rust bubbles by the tailgate, which I have pictured. There is a skylight in the camper toward the front. There is no sunroof on the truck. There is no rust in the inner or outer rockers, floorboards or cab supports. The only rust I found on this truck are the 2 little places on the driver's door, which I have pictured. The paint appears to be all original, maybe a little spot work on the driver's quarter panel. Inside, the bed floor looks like some scratches might have been touched up a bit with a spray can. I do have the factory radio that was changed out and will go with the truck. The tires look to be approx 85% tread (remaining). The air conditioning is all hooked up and comes on. I believe it is probably low on Freon because it doesn't get cold. I pressed on the fitting (where Freon goes) and it still has some pressure on it. The original carpet is in very good condition. The seat is original, but has some splits in it. The door panels are very nice. It looks like the original owner tried to paint the armrests at one point. The dash pad looks like it's been recovered. The headliner is in very good condition, but is sagging a bit due to the glue getting old and loose. The truck is very straight. I was told that it has never been wrecked. This truck is a very good survivor. If you are looking for one to restore, this would be a good candidate. If you're looking for a good, solid, daily driver, you won't be disappointed in this truck!
