I purchased this new and it has been the most perfect bike I've ever owned. I must be insane for selling it, but the addition of a newer bike is forcing this one out. (Also see 1976 Honda 750K for sale!!) Everything works perfectly and always has. The side stand automatically retracts when the clutch lever is pulled in, just like new. I clean up the turn signal switch contacts every few years so they only require the lightest touch. The notorious odometer electrical contact was fixed decades ago. Drive shaft spline was lubed a few thousand miles ago. The bike has a new battery, but is due for tires, and it is time to check the valve clearances. It has never burned a drop of oil (except when you park using the side stand, like they all do). As mentioned in the condition disclaimer, the fuel cap has started to vent some vapors. One photo shows some discoloration on the tank from this. I got knocked over at a stop light long ago, and some of the lower fiberglass is a different shade of pearl white than the original parts. There are some motor scratches from this that you would have to look for to find. If my new bike is half as reliable as this '87 K100RS, I would be thrilled. I got lucky when this one came off of the assembly line and ended up in my hands. It should be good for another 25 years.
