Vehicle Detail
Hello, my name is Joe Dellinger and up for so with no reserve is my newly acquired 1962 VW Beetle. Let me give you some background on the car and why I am selling her. I live in Charlotte N.C. I have owned over 20 VW's in my life. I would find them, fix them up, cruise them for awhile, sell them, then go looking for another project. Well now that I am older I have decided to find the perfect car to keep for my girlfriend and I to cruise around town on the weekends. After several months of looking around for the perfect bug that was nice enough to cruise around town and was not a rust bucket I found it. Recently I ran into a friend of mine who himself has been a VW mechanic for over 30 years. He told me about an older guy who had a 1962 bug for sale, that he had maintained it for the last 5 years, and was what I needed. I immediately went the the gentlemans home and fell in love with it. I will try to describe the car as good as possible. The floor pans had been replaced and are solid as a rock. The interior is in good shape with a lot of new parts to include seats, headliner, and carpet. The engine is a 1600 version for added pep and leaks no oil. The engine compartment is very clean. It had been converted to 12 volts and all lights, etc. work great. The brakes had recently been gone through and the bug stops straight and steady. There is an aftermarket stereo and speakers that work fine but need to be wired up under the trunk lid, for someone that knows stereos it would probably take 3 mins... Overall the interior is very presentable. The paint is what I would call a 6 out of 10. From 20 feet it looks very good. Up close you can see some scratches. The drivers door looks to have been dinged at some point and there is some slight paint runs by the door area. It does not take away from the car that much, just want to be upfront. There are a few small dings in the body but overall it's in good shape. The car shines up good and still looks good though. The tires are practically new and are a matching set. Under the hood is very nice with an intact firewall and the spare is intact and inflated. The chrome bumpers are great, some minor surface rust spots on the bottoms but you really have to look to see. The running boards are newer also. The car in the pictures is dirty, I have since washed, waxed, and detailed it out and it looks even more awesome! The pictures make the car look somewhat nicer in total because they are not as sharp as I would like but it is very presentable, not a show car. Overall the car is in good shape. Cars like this are really becoming very hard to find. Restored (new paint, knock out dings) this bug could bring $10k. 62 bugs online which don't even run and are rust buckets are bringing $4-5k! Now, why am I selling? 2 days after I bought it my girlfriend lost her job. With 2 kids we need cash more than a weekend cruiser. I would love to keep it, especially having looked so hard for it, but I have to sell. This is a no reserve auction. If you have ANY questions please call me at 803-431-4263. If you win the bid please be prepared to buy. I have no time for deadbeats . The title is signed, notorised (by my dad), and ready for your signature. I will assist in shipping as this car could be appreciated in any state.
