Vehicle Detail
I am relisting again. Please don't bid if you have no intention of following through with the sale. 1968 Chevy Nova (Chevy II) 2 door coupe. The car is basically an untouched original car that needs a total restoration. It has a running 6 cylinder engine and a manual 3 speed transmission. I bought this car on ebay a while back and was misled. The car is restorable but much worse than described and I want a better candidate to start with. The basic structure of the car is good. The subframes, rocker panels, cowl, firewall and doors are very solid. The right front fender needs replaced due to rust and damage. The left front fender could be repaired but replacements are cheap. The quarter panels could also be repaired but once again replacements are reasonably priced. The drivers side floor pan needs replaced (I was told a patch could repair it, it needs replaced). The worst part of the car is around the rear window, at the bottom of the rear window, and the tail light panel. I have 2 replacement panels, one for the bottom of the rear window and the taillight panel that I will include with the car. The hood and trunk lid should also be replaced. The center of the trunk floor is thin but it is solid along the edges. The interior is all there but needs reupholstered. The dash is not cracked. The rear window has already been cut out of the car to begin the repairs. The engine runs good, the clutch engages, and the car shifts. However, the throttle sticks and the car has no brakes. I am trying to be as honest as possible because I don't want someone to be as misled as I was by the previous owner. I have much more invested than I will ever get out of the car. I have set the reserve at about half of what I have in it. The winning bidder is responsible for pick up/shipping. The car will not leave my possession until all funds are cleared unless you are paying cash in person. The car is very restorable. I have restored much worse, but would rather spend the money to buy a better candidate to start with. I do have a hood and trunk lid from Texas that I can include to the winning bidder for an additional $250 (exactly what I paid for them). Good luck.
