I bought this car last September in Western Pennsylvania. the car had been in storage and had not run since 2002. I thought it would be easy to get running, but I was wrong. Since buying the car the car the following has been replaced: (with new parts) Timing chain and tensioner, distributer cap and roter, plug wires and plugs,ignition ballast resistors, fuel pump and filter, fuel damper (fuel distributer rebuilt) fuel tank removed boiled and reinstalled,New fuel injectors and injector seals, new inlet manifold gaskets and rubber seals. New belts new tires, and chrome rims (the chrome is peeling on one rim) Flip up stereo dvd player ( original becker stereo is included) the car now runs good,It has good compression and does not burn oil, the a/c blows ice cold, and the heat works well. The interior is very nice, with the exception of the left bolster on the drives seat has been patched. The sun roof works, does not leak, but needs a little help to close. The electric windows all work, the vacuum operated door locks do not work, as I disconnected a vacuum line in the drivers door when I fixed the handle and forgot to reconnect it. The only other thing not working is the cigarette lighter. The car does have some rust mostly in the trunk behind the back wheels (see pictures) and also the floor area behind the front wheels. I thought this would be a fun car to have and I get a lot of thumbs up when I drive it. But it is not a practical car as a daily driver with a wife and two kids. The car has about 130000 miles, but this will change as I am driving it everyday.I have the workshop manuel's and owners manuel's and they will be included. The car can be seen and test driven is West Orange, NJ or Brooklyn, NY Before the end of the auction. I recommend seeing the car in person as there are a few dings and imperfections that do not show in the picture (THE CAR IS 37 YEARS OLD). Along the way i picked up a parts car, a 1976 450 SEL. It ran well, had no rust, but the interior was no good. I've removed some parts of this car to help troubleshoot the 1977 car. These parts are all still there but have not been put back on the parts car so it currently does not run. If the 1977 car sells for the buy it now price, I will include the parts car if the winning bidder wants it.For your info, the black car is Euro spec. No power robbing emissions stuff, less complicated and much more power. The Blue 76 car is US spec, but all the parts are interchangeable. Some people have asked about the parts car, so I have added some pictures. This was a running car with almost no rust, but the carpets are rotten and it smells damp. The car is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early. A $500 deposit is required within 24 hours of the end of the auction. Balance due when car is picked up in cash or Paypal within 7 days from end of auction. Car is sold as is, where is no warranty. The stereo in the black car is a Becker Mexico, the stereo in the blue car is a Becker Europe. The AC stopped blowing cold today but the compressor is working and I suspect the rotary knob in the dash to be the problem.
