Vehicle Detail
1972 Triumph TR6 (built 9/71), 69,250 original miles, matching #’s and British Heritage Certificate, painted Chrome Yellow (original paint is rare Laurel Green. The only ’72 cars that had Laurel Green were those produced in ’71). Black interior with original seats. Very solid body and frame. Mechanically perfect and drives better than new. Here is a list of what has been done to the car: Done by prior owner: Engine rebuilt at approx. 60,000 miles (new main and rod bearings, new rings, new cam, new oil pump), new Stainless Dual Sport Exhaust with Headers, Transmission rebuilt at approx. 66,000 miles (new front and rear bearings, seals and new layshaft), new Clutch and Pressure Plate when transmission was rebuilt), Rearend checked and new universal joints installed (6) with seals, new rear brake cylinders, new Master Cylinder in 2010, new Alternator in 2008, new Water Pump in 2009, new Tires in 2009 (P205-70R15), new Front Shocks (rear shocks were fine), new Wiper Boxes, Crane electronic ignition. Done by current owner (since 3/11): new Walnut Dash installed with all gauges cleaned, trim rings repainted and new glove box liner, Bumpers re-chromed (front and rear), new Alpine radio/cd/mp3 player installed with JBL rear speakers (in removable speaker boxes) and Focal front speakers. Front Suspension rebuilt with Prothane bushings and new Tie-Rod ends, rebuilt Front Brake Calipers and installed new Rotors and Green Stuff brake pads, all Wheels (including spare) bead blasted, primed and painted silver with clear coat, new Richard Good aluminum Steering Rack mounts, boots and flexible coupling, Carburetors rebuilt with all new fuel lines and new stainless heat shield, new K & N Air Filters, new Ignition Wires (correct green), rotor and NGK plugs installed, Radiator pressure checked, bead blasted and painted and new hoses (correct green) installed, new Radiator Air Duct installed, new Rear Sway Bar installed, new Richard Good trailing arm adjustable brackets, new Rear Bearing Hubs, new Trunk Trim Kit, Carpet and Seals (trunk lid and taillight), new Triumph rubber floor mats, new seat Diaphrams. What it needs: top is useable and in decent shape but has 2 tears in it (one 5” and one 1”). Comes with a brand new original style Robbins top (Moss price $475) that needs installed. Driver seat has several tears (passenger seat is perfect). Paint still has a good gloss to it but was painted in early 2000’s so has road chips that have been covered with touch up paint. Hood has a several areas where paint bubbled (pictures show 2 of the areas). They have been covered with touch up paint. There is one area on front right fender where buffer buffed through small area of paint into primer and original green paint underneath (see photo). I had intended to paint entire car original Laurel Green. Car is located 30 miles north of Pittsburgh, PA. I encourage those interested to come and inspect/drive the car.
