Vehicle Detail
For your consideration is my '69 Impala 427 SS Custom Coupe. This car was sold to the Volo Auto Museum by the family of the original owner in 2001. It was restored in the late 90's to its original glory. The original motor was blown sometime in the mid-late '70's and was dealer replaced. The 400 TH transmission and 12 bolt posi rear end are original to the car. Other than the car's short stint in Volo, IL, the car has been a southern car its entire life. It went from Alabama to Volo, IL to Vidalia, Georgia, finally ending up in Augusta, Georgia in my garage. I purchased it from the folks who got the car from Volo. This car is an overall nice driver. The paint is nice with a few touch ups that aren't really noticable. You have to look for them. This is a nice, straight car, not a thrown together bondo bucket. It was refinished in its original Garnet Red with parchment formal vinyl top. There is no rust on this car anywhere. The top is nice, with no bubbling or soft spots. The stainless is nice. The bumpers are nice driver quality and have a good shine. The 15" Rallyes are wrapped in newer Goodyear Eagle GT's. The glass and interior are nice. The seats and door panels were replaced in the late '90's and still look great. The car runs and drives great. It shifts through the gears very nicely. The power disc brakes definitely do their job. The car stops straight and true, with no pulling right or left. There are no fluid leaks. The air conditioner blows great, but needs a recharge. It does blow cool, just not ice cold. It has not been converted. Everything works on the car except for the clock and cruise control. The car was ordered with the factory AM/FM radio that still sits in the bezel and it works great. Have you priced one of these original radios? As I said, this is an overall nice driver. If you take it to nearly any show or cruise in, chances are better than not that you will be the only one there with a car like this, since there were only 2,455 built. The year 1969 was the last year for the Impala SS until 1994. All SS cars in '69 were 427 cars. My car is the real deal, not a tribute. Please call Andy at (706) 836-4410 with questions. If you'd like more specific pictures, or a video of the car running or driving down the road, send a number to text to or an email address. I will be listing the car elsewhere, so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Please...serious calls and bids only. I am going back to graduate school fulltime, and with a son in his last year of college, I need to sell this car. We have taken this car on several long road trips with no issues. This is my last of two Chevrolets I will be parting with. This is a "NO RESERVE" auction. I have several thousand more in this car than what the starting bid is, so don't call and ask if I'll take less. Thanks for looking.
