Vehicle Detail
This item is a completely restored, from the ground-up, 1974 MG Midget with the desirable round wheel arches and wire wheels. The car has been rebuilt front-to-back, top-to-bottom. After acquiring the car from an Arizona owner, the few rust spots were cut out of the car and replaced with solid metal parts. The car was seam-sealed, primed and then painted inside and out. The engine has been completely rebuilt, balanced and all pieces brought back to factory clearances with new oversized pistons, valves, guides and seats. The timing chain, bearings, gaskets and seals have all been replaced with new parts. The flywheel has been resurfaced, clutch and pressure plate replaced with new parts while the clutch master and slave cylinders have also been replaced with new parts. The carburetors have been completely rebuilt and polished. The gearbox has been completely rebuilt with a new lay gear, 1st gear, synchros and all new bearings, gaskets and seals while the exhaust system has been replaced with all new parts. Also note that the gas tank is new. The front suspension was disassembled, bead-blasted, primed and painted while all the bushings, bearings, seals and hardware were replaced with new parts. The rear axle has been disassembled, stripped, cleaned and painted and reassembled with all new hardware and thrust washers while all wheel bearings and seals have been replaced. The differential was rebuilt with new thrust washers and seals. The braking system, including the master cylinder, wheel cylinders, all hoses, front pads, rear shoes and rotors have all been replaced with new parts. The calipers were also rebuilt with new parts. The windshield and side windows have been replaced with new glass and rubber seals and the interior is completely new with seats, carpeting and sun visors. The dashboard has been recovered and includes a custom wood steering wheel and wooden gear shift knob. Most chrome on the car, bumpers, side trim, door and trunk handles are new while the rest of the chrome parts are in excellent condition. The convertible top, boot and tonneau are a few years old, but still in very good condition. The car runs and drives as new. Although this is not a new car there will be some minor flaws. No warranty is implied and the car will be sold "as is". Shipping, taxes, tag and title are the responsibility of the winning bidder. Car must be paid for within 7 days of the end of the auction. If you have any questions, please ask. Good luck bidding.
