After five years of a very fun hobby, it is time to sell my 1966 Corvette. I am recently retired and simply need to downsize. In my time of ownership I have placed approximately 1,500 miles on the car and made the following updates; 1) installed new leather seat covers and foam (original leather covers are intact and goes with the car), and 2) had the gauge cluster and clock redone. Probably due to my installation skill, the battery gauge and the odometer do not work, sorry. Other than that, I have only had to change the oil and drive it to Sonic on pretty weekends. This is a nice, comfortable, and dependable mid-year. The paint is approximately 7 years old. The front end suspension has been restored, and the factory air conditioning blows very, very cold in our Texas climate. As history, I purchased this vehicle from the New York area after a recommendation of a friend of a friend who happened to be the editor of the NCRS Driveline publication. The gentleman was kind enough to go inspect this vehicle on my behalf. His description of the car is as follows: "Very very nice car…paint is base/clear…nice looking…power brakes added to the car…side pipes added also…motor cast date was either Dec 20 or Dec 30 of 1965…build date of the car was first week in April…it’s within the 6 month window which is ok…broach marks were not visible…but the pad is VERY old…and the stampings and characters look correct…very light hit…pad/motor appear to be original…underside of car has never really been totally restored, but he’s painted it with other than factory finishes…the VIN plate and Trim Tag are original and correct…motor stamp was T0113 IL which would make it built on Jan 13, 1966…a few weeks after it was cast…body is AO Smith and the doors are also AO Smith…lots of times you see St. Louis doors on an AO smith body…but these are correct…interior is nice…couldn’t slide under the chassis to check the trans dates and there wasn’t a lift available…all in all it’s a great car and the price seems to be right in the ballpark for a very very good looking very close to being correct driver…" After 15 years of being a loyal eBayer, this is my first item to ever post for sale, so please be patient with my ad posting skills. On Aug-04-14 at 23:17:17 PDT, seller added the following information: New Update Details: 08/04/14 - In response to the high interest displayed by my fellow eBayers, I have recently posted additional photos which include bottom, front and side photos, panel gaps and paint close-ups, as well pictures of the interior VIN plate and engine pad VIN. Thanks to an kind ebayer, I have not ever been able to see the engine pad VIN until he advised me to go ahead and shoot a photo and then I and other viewers may then simply zoom on it and read it under the paint.
