Vehicle Detail
1954 PACKARD PACIFIC MAYFAIR HARDTOP COUPE Here is a very nice and RARE 1954 Packard Pacific 2 door hardtop. There were only 1189 of these cars made, which makes them relatively hard to find. This car retains its original 359 Packard Thunderbolt Own in-Line L-Head 8 cylinder motor, and its original Packard Ultramatic automatic transmission. Both have been completely rebuilt. Also rebuilt was the generator, carburetor and starter. The intake manifold was also machined. The heater core and radiator were re-cored. The car has been upgraded to 12 volt with a new battery installed. The interior shows very well. Everything was redone with SMS original cloth and top quality leather. The carpet is all new, and the radio was repaired to working condition. The heater and fan controls are also in working condition - including the rear-seat heater! The rear bumper has been re-chromed, but the rest of the chrome on the car will need to be redone. The chrome is saveable, but is pitted and needs to be re-chromed. The paint and bodywork is not bad, but could use some work to make it a show car. This is a good rust-free solid car that runs smooth. This could be a great car to take to shows, or spend some money, and restore it. A very simillar car completely redone sold at Mecum for over $44,000. The value is there, but it needs someone to put some time into it to really make it shine! On Jul-30-14 at 06:09:38 PDT, seller added the following information: CORRECTION - THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN CHANGED TO 12 VOLT SYSTEM. IT HAS A NEW 6 VOLT BATTERY INSTALLED. SORRY - SOME CONFUSION WITH A 1954 OLDSMOBILE THAT HAD THE CONVERSION IN MY INVENTORY.
