This auction is for a 1964 Mercury Comet Cyclone,VIN: 4S27K523408. After looking at several VIN decoders I see that the third and fourth digits being 27 designate it as a 2 door hardtop, Cyclone. The fifth digit being an K designates a 289 V-8 with four barrel carburetor. We purchased the car in its present condition several years ago and don't have any history on it. It was someone's project in the works. We didn't get time to identify the engine today, but we will ad it to the description soon. The car was originally an automatic on the column. The engine setting in the car is a small block V-8 with a 2 barrel carburetor and a four speed. The installation was not completed and the car is short some components such as the drive shaft and radiator. The body on the car is very solid and rust free with only a few areas needing metal replaced. There are a few holes in the front floors and around the rear wheel openings. The previous owner sanded most of the paint off of the car and let it set outside. Most of the car has surface rust, but doesn't appear to be pitted. There is a lot of loose parts. There is some missing parts and extras of others. We will ad pictures of the loose parts soon. There is no rear bumper. This is a very restorable and very desirable car. ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
