These vehicles were intended as mid-sized complements to the full-size LH cars and as a result, shared many of their traits, including the cab forward design and the resulting large interior cabin. Power was provided by either a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine or a 2.5-liter V6. The 4-cylinder produced 132 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 130 pound-feet of torque at 4600 rpm. The 2.5-liter V6, limited to the LXi trim level, produced 168 horsepower at 5800 rpm and 170 pound-feet of torque at 4350 rpm. The Cirrus was available with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The 2.0-liter engine achieved EPA estimates of 26 miles per gallon in city driving and 36 miles per gallon on the highway. The 2.5-liter V6 achieved 19 miles per gallon in city driving and 27 miles per gallon on the highway.
