The transmission in this car shifts well through all the gears. One thing that I have noticed is that, there is a need to tap the gas pedal a couple of time when starting the engine cold and it fires right up, otherwise it takes a few cranks to start this car. My understanding is that this is typical of Volvo cars of this era. This is a very good car that handles and perform very well.
