Very clean, runs great, plenty of power. All around practical, reliable vehicle. Clear Title Don’t worry about snow again! This car has not been MD State Inspected, so it can only be sold to a non-Maryland resident. Please read the description fully and ensure that you can meet the obligations of this auction before bidding. As is stated above, this is a NO RESERVE auction for a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV. This Santa Fe has the powerful 3.5L V6 engine, and capable 4WD system. Will eat snow for breakfast. It can seat 5 people, with decent rear storage space, or the rear seats can be folded down to greatly increase the cargo area. There are twin air bags, and child safety seat anchors are present. The rear hatch lifts up to provide a huge opening for loading and unloading cargo. Roof racks are present for additional storage. There is no hitch, but if one was installed, I’m sure that this engine is capable of pulling a small boat or a couple of jet skis. The 3.5L V6 engine runs great, has heaps of torque, and does not overheat. The transmission shifts normally through all the gears. The suspension is firm and feels good. The brakes are strong. The rear brakes occasionally emit a small squeak, but I checked the pads and they have plenty of life, so they may just be a bit dusty. This Santa Fe does have a slow radiator leak. The drip is coming from the driver’s side corner of the radiator. I have examined the area, and cannot see the source, but the hoses and connections look clean. At worst, the radiator may need to be replaced. Hyundai parts are cheap, and a new radiator can be purchased for about $108 on RockAuto, and someone with mild mechanical skills should be able to do the job on their own on a Sunday. The interior is in great shape. The seats, consoles and carpets are very clean. They could use a wipe with a damp cloth to remove a little dust, but are otherwise great. The seats are leather, and give good support. The front seats are heated. There are no cracks on the dash or center console. The carpets and factory mats are in good shape. Lots of power options that all work: remote central locking, power windows, and power mirrors. This Santa Fe has cruise control, driver and passenger air bags, and a factory radio/CD player with 6-speaker sound system. There is a 12V accessory plug in addition to the cigarette lighter. The heater works, and there is A/C, but it is blowing warm air, so it probably needs a charge. All of the gauges on the dash work, and there are no warning lights showing. The wipers and lights all work too. The exterior of the Santa Fe is in good shape. There’s no rust. The dark blue paint has the occasional little scratch or ding, as expected for a 10 year old car. There is a small scuff on the passenger’s side of the front bumper that is visible in the pics, but it is nothing serious. Optional fog lights are available. The rear tires are good, but the front tires are both worn on their right side, so they will need to be replaced and a front-end alignment will need to be done. The underside of the car is solid with no major rust, just the odd spot of surface rust here or there that would be expected on a 10 year old car. This Santa Fe would be a good, practical car for a person of any age group or interest. It can be a round-town errand-runner, family vehicle, high school car, college car, small business mule, etc. It would be great for anyone with an active lifestyle, or that needs to haul lightweight materials and equipment, as the rear hatch creates a huge opening and the rear seats can lay down for extra cargo space. This car is not in showroom condition, it has some faults, and I have described all of those faults that I have found. We’re starting to see Santa Fe’s with over 300k miles and still going strong, and I used one with 160k miles as a daily driver throughout last winter that gave me no trouble and had no problems handling the snow, even when it was at bumper-height in a few places, so they have a good reputation as affordable, reliable cars.
