Vehicle Detail

For sale is my 1997 Geo Metro. It has a freshly rebuilt 1.0L, 3 cyl engine with 5-spd manual transmission. I originally bought this car to refurbish and use as a commute vehicle. I got about 95% done when I realized I could retire comfortably and wouldn't need to commute anymore! At that point I stopped working on it and put it up for sale. Here's the bad: The transmission needs to be either rebuilt or replaced. Don't let this discourage you. A used trans from Pick-N-Pull is $99. If you decide to rebuild the original, the rebuild kit is under $90. The car can be driven. It just makes a transmission noise. I believe it's the final drive bearing that's starting to go out. Please read on................................. Here's the good: The motor has been gone through top to bottom. I rebuilt it using nothing but the best parts. All parts used were those that were recommended by a certified tech that rebuilds and sells Geo motors as a side business. He's done literally hundreds of these little 1.0's so he knows what works/lasts and what doesn't. I also used engine clearances that he recommended. The machine shop that performed all machining work I've been using for 25 years. The block has been bored .020 over, the crank has been turned .010 under and the rods resized and reconditioned. The shop was provided with all parts prior to machining so all clearances could be verified. The head has been surfaced, new valves installed and some guide work done. Compression is 180psi across the board. It always fires on the first kick and runs like a top! The car also has 2 new drive axles. Yes, the car has over 300K on it but there's nothing to these cars. The only wear items left are the wheel bearings. I have all receipts and documentation along with many, many pictures of the rebuild process. This car is clean top to bottom and is a rust free California car. Interior is an 8 out of 10. The only issue is a somewhat sagging headliner. The body has 1 dent in the right rear quarter and a dent in the hatchback. Neither dent creased the paint. Look at the pics, they aren't even noticeable. There is $180 in California DMV back fees 'cause I missed this years registration deadline. My bad! This is a clean, great running little car that needs a small amount of work to become an awesome commuter vehicle. These things routinely pull 45-50MPG!! I'll respond to any and all questions? I've got a low reserve price and I burn no one. Check my feedback and thanks for bidding!
