Vehicle Detail
Picked this motorbike up from a good friend who needed to make room due to continued acquisition opportnities. I too have more bikes than I know what to do with. So I present a great opportunity for another motorbike enthusiast. This motorbike is fast and dependable. Engine runs great, handles like a charm and looks awesome! This is a solid Suzuki GS1000E up for sale. As you can see from the pictures, the bike is far from stock, with a number of performance and cosmetic modifications. The motor is basically stock, but a set of $800 Keihin CR smoothbore carburetors have been fitted and tuned to run waaay better than the stock emission strangled Mikunis. In addition, a Dyna S electronic ignition has been added, along with Dyna coils and wires, so the ignition on this bike is perfect and maintenance free. The motor carburates and runs beautifully, and pulls like the old school monster that it is. It has "4 into 1" Vance & Hines headers w/megaphone muffler that gives the exhaust a really nice growl. Some of the other things that have been done to the bike recently include a complete rebuild on the front and rear brakes including rebuilt master cylinders (the front master cylinder was updated to an ’81), new custom braided steel brake lines front and back, and all calipers rebuilt, finished off with new EBC pads. The swing arm was replaced with a polished box aluminum swingarm from an ’81 GS1000, for a better look and improved rear wheel control. The chain and front and rear sprockets are new, and the front forks were completely disassembled, all gaskets and seals replaced with OEM parts, new Progressive springs installed, and finished off with the right weight fork oil. Both front and rear tires are recent with lots of tread. As you may have noticed, the bike's stock foot pegs are replaced with a set of Paolo Tarozzi rear sets and along with recently fitted clubman handle bars giving it great racing ergonomics. I really like the riding position, it’s a comfortable compromise between the standard upright position and the sportbike crouch. The tank is from an ’81 GS1000, it’s got a more café look than the standard ’79 tank. From an appearance standpoint, the bike isn't where I intended to end up, my original intention was to give it a hardcore "café racer" look; but thought I would leave that up to the next owner to put his or her flair to it. The bike runs flawlessly; I took it on a 500 mile trip to the western part of the state earlier in this spring with absolutely no problems. The bike is only showing 13,955 miles, has no rust and virtually every system has been attended to, refurbished and/or reengineered. Strap on this engine my friend and jump off.I have done my best to describe the bike, I will answer any questions. This is a 36 year old motorbike it is sold without warranty expressed or implied. I will not ship the bike but will assist your carrier the best I can.
