Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a chevelle you dont see very often. A Real deal fully documented SS 396 that was not restored. This car is fresh out of hibernation for 20+ years. Sold new out of Steve Ferrara Chevrolet in Penns Grove new jersey to David Arnold of Elsmere Delaware. He walked in on March 2nd and put down a 10 dollar deposit and came back the next day with the balance and his old 64 pontiac for trade. I have all the documentation to prove this along with the sales order, original protectoplate, cancelled checks and reciepts!!! Also have lots of reciepts from work he had done to it at the dealer later in its life. This car is also a canada built car so the SS option along with the 4 speed is on its original trim tag as you will see in the pics. It shows the Z25 option which is for the SS396 pkg and the M20 for the 4spd along with the bucket seats and console so The documentation is bulletproof. The car has its [BORN WITH] 396-350HP ENGINE [CTX] code along with the vin number on it and numbers matching from the 205 quadrajet to the [KF]331 positraction axle. drivetrain has never been apart or out of the car. It runs great and drives well even on 35 year old Goodyear polyglas tires. The clutch is chatter free and smooth and brakes are excellent. I drove it home 75 miles on the hiway is rush hour traffic and it drove great. Its a very tight feeling car. Everything works as it should and it didnt run hot and the tach works along with the am radio. It has one very old repaint and there is a little rust coming thru on the passenger quarter Panel but thats about it. It could really use a new paint job down the road but you can drive it way it is for now. Interior is completly original.Only 1 rip in the drivers seat outer bolster but i have another cover for it from another survivor car to keep it more authentic looking. The repro seat cover are horrible and the color is not correct so this is the way to keep it original in my book. Option are as follows, tinted glass,Bucket seats,Door edge guards,Center console,Positraction with 331 gears,M20 4speed trans,am radio, rear speaker,SS 396 Equipment and full instrumentation including the 5500 Redline tachometer. Car is ugly under the hood but it is a timecapsule and you can restore it to your likeing. Please call 267-246-6903 to set up an appointment to see and drive it first. call to talk and i will give you a walk around description before you bid to make sure its what you want. Thanks for looking.......I have more pics of the undercarriage and engine compartment and close ups of anything else you want to see.On Jul-13-14 at 21:37:19 PDT, seller added the following information: I just wanted to clarify a few things in my auction. The chevelle has NOT been sitting dormant for 20 years. The car was driven every once in a while for the last 7 years and runs and drives great. There's no old gas in it and drives great. Also I thank everyone for all the trade offers and interest in it but since it hit reserve on the first day I think it's only fair to let the auction run its course and give the high bidder 1st shot at owning it. I tried to send the pictures to lots of potential buyers but ebay wouldn't let them go thru for some reason. I can assure you the floors and trunk pan are solid with no patchwork as is the frame. This is a great old car to drive and with a little tlc and cleaning it will be an awesome car. Thanks again for all the interest.
