Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a 1974 Chevrolet Camaro project. I picked the car up in Summer 2013 and haven't done anything with it. The car is a straight six 250 engine with TH350 automatic transmission. Very solid 2nd generation Camaro without the usual rust and rot. Car is SOLID through and through. Below are the details and pictures: Chassis & Suspension: The suspension is factory stock and has not been butchered or altered. Torsion bars are stock as well.Floor pans and trunk pans SOLID!!! The floor pans have sound proofing on them but from under the car I could not find any holes or rot. Interior: Interior is in fair condition. The dash pad has some cracking in it but all the nobs, gauges, buttons, and switches are there. Previous owner installed temp and oil pressure gauges in the console. I tested the main systems when I purchased and all were functioning as they should at the time. Glove compartment cardboard insert is missing. Brake System Brakes work...front disc rear drum. Brakes should be gone through obviously while restoring...but there are no known issues with the brakes. Engine & Transmission: Straight six 250 motor with a one barrel carb. That's what attracted me about this car as most of the base model straight six 2nd gen camaro's have been converted to V8 by now. Kind of cool that it's straight six as you don't really see that to often. The flip side of that coin is...to swap a V8 into the bay all thats needed is the motor and the motor mount rubber inserts as the camaro uses clam shell rubber inserts. Keep it straight six and have an economy classic...or stuff a 350 in there for a hooligan mobile. Tranmission needs to be rebuilt. The all of the gears work independent of each other (P, R, N, D, 2, 1)...but when in D the car will not move [hence in D 1 and 2 are not engaging]. I drove the car back to the shop by shifting from 1 - 2 - D. On Rear end: The rear end is an chevy 10 bolt (open differential). I never opened the diff cover to inspect so I do not know the gear set. It's probably 3.08 gear set...but I'm just guessing. Misc: Dent in front drivers fender by the headlight [see pics & video].Carb should be rebuilt or replaced with rebuilt unit. It's a manual choke but it runs weird until warmed up.Milage on the odometer is 68,XXX however, the true miles are unknown. Clean VA title in my name. Pictures: Videos Walk Around Video ESPN Trailer - I work with local video producers who need cars for film and commercials. The car appeared in an ESPN teaser before a NASCAR race. Dosn't add any value...but still pretty cool. Shipping: Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements and cost associated with transporting the car. Payment: A paypal deposit is due 48 hours after the complete of the auction. The remaining balance will be due within 5 business days of completion of the auction [or on pickup if arrangements have been made with me]. Final payment I will accept cash and credit card ONLY!!! Credit cards will be processed through my credit card processor [paypal fee's are too much these days]. If you've got any questions, please Email me or give me a call at (703) 587-5801. The car is for sale locally and I do reserve the right to end the auction at any time [if a local sale is completed]. There is a noticeable amount of slop in the door when opening and closing. Minor omission and an easy job under $10 bucks.
